Grabouski, Hudson, Frye are repeat winners at Osborne Speedway fair races
By Mike Hughes
OSBORNE, Kan. (July 25-26)—Three IMCA drivers were double winners during the July 25-26 county fair special at Osborne Speedway.
Jordan Grabouski led every lap of the two IMCA Modified features. Josh Hudson doubled up in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Tyler Frye took a pair of checkers in the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods.
Grabouski was on an opening night roll, pulling away from the competition on each restart. The final caution came on lap 19 and set up a green, white, checkered finish.
Darrick Klima chased Grabouski but could not make a challenge and settled for second. Marty Clark was third.
Night two was more of the same, with Grabouski in front from start to finish.
Joe Cleveland tried to take advantage of a late restart but could not hold the momentum and ended in second. Third place went to Corey Lagroon.
Hudson made his first trip to victory lane look easy, after pulling away from Pat Bedore and Adam Balthazor. He cleared the field by midway, leaving Jared Remus to best Balthazor, Bedore and Jay Hachmeister in the race for runner-up points.
Night two was another story as Bedore, Balthazor and then Terry Cunningham ran at the front before Hudson could take over the top spot. Cunningham was glued to his back bumper at the finish.
Two red flags delayed Frye’s opening night win.
He caught up with Shaylon Holloway on lap six and led to the finish Monday evening.
Cody Graham was second across the finish line but was promoted to first when Jacob Williams was disqualified in post-race tech following the first IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock show.
Rhett Kingsbury led all 15 laps on Monday to score his first Hobby win of the season.
