FRANCIS CREEK, Wis. (Aug. 25) – Veteran Eugene Gregorich pulled off the upset of his career, holding off Eddie Muenster to capture Wednesday’s 20 lap, $1,500 to win IMCA Modified feature at 141 Speedway.

The victory also put Gregorich on the ballot for the 2011 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational.

Kyle Frederick executed a last lap pass on Greg Gutt, bringing the crowd to its feet and winning the $1,500 IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature, also a 20 lap affair.

Gregorich led all 20 laps, but the contest was far from a gimme. Muenster charged from his fourth row starting spot into second by the halfway point and pressured Gregorich, but the leader sped away from the field following a late caution to take the checkers.

Muenster took second, followed by Jared Siefert, Kyle Lentz and Brian Mullen.

Frederick started 14th in the Sock Car field. Dan Nelson led from the pole but lost the front spot to Gutt by lap seven. Frederick methodically picked off a car every lap or two and found himself into second with two laps remaining.

As the white flag was displayed, Frederick snatched the lead away and went on to victory. Gutt took second, followed by John Heinz and brothers Jamie and Jesse Colwell.

Rob Charapada earned his first local Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod feature, fighting off Troy Jerovetz and Josh Long over the course of several cautions. Johnny Whitman and Brad Lautenbach rounded out the top five.
