IMCA Modifieds chase $2,000 minimum to win at Smackdown

DONNELLSON, Iowa – Two grand is the minimum the IMCA Modified winner will take home from Lee County Speedway’s Saturday, April 17 Smackdown.
Lap sponsors kick in $30 for the leader each time around the track – another $10 goes to the second place driver – putting the winner’s share of the purse $3,050 if they’re scored in first for each of the 35 circuits in the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifier.
The special is sponsored by Discount Tire & Service. A $100 hard charger bonus goes to the driver improving the most positions start to finish.
National, ButlerBuilt North Central Region and Allstar Performance State points will be awarded for the draw/redraw event. Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods chase a $500 top check, along with national and state points.
Gates open at 4 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. Hot laps are at 6:30 p.m. and racing starts at 7 p.m.
Modified entry fee is $50 or $75 if postmarked after April 10. Entry fee for the Northern SportMods is $20.
Pit passes are $25. Grandstand admission is $12 for adults, $10 for seniors, $7 for students ages 11-17 and 10 and un¬der get in free.
A practice night at Donnellson runs from 6:30-9 p.m. on Friday, April 16. Rain date for the Smackdown is Sunday, April 18.
