Tocci Cruises to Second Straight Modified Win at ECS

By Ben Deatherage GREAT FALLS, Mont. (May 3, 2025) — Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds took center stage at Electric City Speedway for a 20-lap main event. Kolby Hannah managed to outmaneuver Jordan Tocci to lead the opening circuit, but Tocci, the two-time reigning Gallatin Speedway champion from Three Forks, swiftly reclaimed the top spot on lap four. From there, Tocci began to pull away as Hannah and David Davis battled for second. A mid-race caution on lap 10 regrouped the field, but Tocci proved untouchable on the restart, driving away to secure his second straight victory at ECS and in the Shaw Race Cars Western Region. Hannah held on to finish second, while 2022 Region champion Ty Clemens charged from 11th to complete the podium in third. Gensch Scores First Sport Compact Victory of 2025 Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts made their 2025 debut at Electric City Speedway with a 20-lap feature that saw Rick Bishop take control early. Bree Wonch Outduels Husband Austin for Memorable First Modified Victory

By Ben Deatherage CRYSTAL, Mich. (May 3, 2025) — The Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature at Crystal Motor Speedway delivered a career-defining moment for Lady Eagle racer Bree Wonch, who stormed to her first-ever victory in the DeVilbiss Racing Eastern Region. After a daring pass on the bottom of turn four on lap 4, she surged to the lead and began to distance herself from the field. Despite a mid-race caution erasing her substantial advantage, Wonch nailed the restart and once again pulled away. Behind her, husband Austin Wonch, the 2019 Crystal track champion, worked his way into second, setting up a family one-two finish that brought the Crystal crowd to its feet. With the win, Bree not only captured her first feature victory but also became eligible to qualify for the Fast Shafts All-Star Modified Invitational, set to be held during the 2025 Speedway Motors IMCA Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. Austin held on for second, while Casey Smith completed the podium in third. The event was broadcast live on IMCA TV. Catch every lap [Read More]

By Ben Deatherage MINNEAPOLIS, Kan. (May 8, 2025) — Cody Williams always dreamed of being in the 100-win club. On Sunday, May 4th, that dream became reality with a $1,000 victory at Concordia Raceway, a track just 25 miles from his home. The triumph wasn’t just another checkered flag—it was his 100th career win in the Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stocks, a milestone that places him among the elite. “This is something I’ve always dreamed of,” Williams said. “To be in the 100-win group is awesome. And to do it so close to home with family, my engine builder, and a lot of good friends there—it made it really special.” Williams is the 16th driver to join the century club in IMCA Hobby Stock competition, tying him with John Garrigan Jr. and Cody Nielsen. He also becomes just the third Kansan to achieve the feat, joining B.J. Dauer and Brady Bencken. At the top of the leaderboard is Shannon Anderson with an imposing 361 wins.
