SEYMOUR, Wis. (July 15) – Brian Mullen made his move to the front on the final circuit in winning Sunday’s IMCA Modified main event at Outagamie Speedway.
An opening lap wreck in the open wheel headliner sent point leader Mike Mullen down pit lane with damage and he did not return. J.J. Andersen then led from the drop of the green until lap six when Konnor Wilinski took away the top spot.
Wilinski paced the field, running up top as Mullen worked through the pack. Mullen began to close with five to go. Mullen made his move as the white flag flew, diving under Wilinski for the lead, the win and top spot in the point standings.
Kyle Frederick collected the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car checkers and Cody Schroeder raced past Cole Mangin with four laps remaining to win the IMCA Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod feature.
Michael Brehmer came out on top in the Mach-1 Sport Compact main.
By Edward Anschutz SEYMOUR, Wis. (May 14) – His late-race heroics put Benji LaCrosse in victory lane at Outagamie Speedway Friday night. There were 27 IMCA Modifieds, 33 IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, 37 Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods and 29 Mach-1 Sport Compacts checked in and Wyatt Block Jr. and Marcus Yarie traded the lead early. Yarie was able to work the high side, gaining enough momentum to pull away from Block. Cautions kept the field bunched, allowing Block and LaCrosse each to mount a challenge. LaCrosse set his sights on Yarie with five to go. With Yarie running the top side, LaCrosse began to peek his nose down low under the leader. With one lap remaining, Yarie changed to the low groove as LaCrosse went sailing by up top for the win and a clean sweep of the night. Yarie has to settle for second, Block was third, Justin Ritchie ran fourth and Cody Schroeder completed the top five. In Stock Car action, Justin Jacobson paced the opening eight laps until Brandon Czarapata took over the top spot. Jacobson came roaring back, closing in on the leader before his car suffered a mechanical problem, [Read More]
By Edward Anschutz SEYMOUR, Wis. (July 12) – Benji LaCrosse took the top line to victory lane in IMCA Modified action Friday at Outagamie Speedway. Marcus Yarie had built up a straightaway advantage over Johnny Whitman but a caution on lap nine halted his progress. On the restart, Yarie collected an infield tire sending it onto that track that caused another caution. Yarie was sent to the tail of the field, handing the lead over to Whitman. With Whitman running the tires LaCrosse worked the top groove and was able to slip by Whitman on lap 12. LaCrosse put it on cruise control all the way to victory lane with his second feature win of the season. Whitman had a solid points night with second, rookie Cody Schroeder continued to impress by taking third place, Justin Ritchie came through the last chance race to take fourth and Josh Long completed the top five in his first visit of the season. An opening lap crash in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature saw point leader Josh Mroczkowski head pit side with damage. As the [Read More]
By Joe Verdegan SEYMOUR, Wis. (May 17, 2024) – Josh Mroczkowski’s IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature win at Outagamie Speedway Friday night was beyond impressive for a couple of reasons. For starters, the Krakow racer’s margin of victory at the checkers was a mere .028 seconds. What’s more, Mroczkowski fought off a pair of former IMCA national champions to the line in the process – Pulaski drivers Rod Snellenberger and Brandon Czarapata. Mroczkowski started inside row two of the 20 lap contest and wrestled the lead away from Keegan Van Ooyen on lap four. As the laps clicked off, Snellenberger and Czarapata, who started in the fifth and sixth rows, respectively, began methodically picking off their opponents one-by-one and began to gradually reel in the Krakow Ace. A late race caution bunched up the field, and despite Snellenberger’s best efforts Mroczkowski beat Snellenberger at the line by mere inches. The margin was so close the finish had to be confirmed by transponder scoring. Snellenberger settled for runner-up money, with Czarapata, Nick Buckarma and Devin Snellenberger [Read More]
