AUBURN, Mich. (July 12) – Friday night was the last opportunity for Allstar Performance IMCA Modified drivers to dial in their rides before the big Greased Pig 9.0 special at Tri-City Motor Speedway on July 19.  

Defending champion Nate Jones has had a tough first half of the season.  However, he may have figured out his issues as it took him only five laps to go from ninth place to take the lead from Will Small.

Once Jones got to the front, he was long gone from the rest of the field taking the win easily over point leader Matt Szecsodi, Brenten DeYoung, “B” feature winner Kody Johnson and Mitchell Hunt.

Hunt takes home Tri-City trophy

(May 17) – Friday night belonged to Mitchell Hunt.  Hunt won the Allstar Performance IMCA Modified main event at Tri-City Motor Speedway on a night that saw nearly 30 entries in the division.  Outside polesitter Garrett Bennett led the opening laps before Chris Cohoon took over the top spot. But Hunt marched his way to the front and muscled away the lead from Cohoon on lap eight and never looked back.  For Hunt, it was his first-ever Tri-City feature win. Opening night winner Matt Szecsodi, A.J. Ward, Jacob Flickinger and Brenten DeYoung secured top five finishes.

Reay rules Tri-City, Eastern IMCA Allstars Modifieds

PORTLAND, Mich. (June 23) – After winning $2,000 on Friday night, Jeffrey Reay came up just three dollars short of matching that career-topping total in the second installment of the Eastern IMCA Allstars the following Wednesday. Reay led all 30 laps of the June 18 IMCA Modified feature at Tri-City Motor Speedway. He outran defending Dirt Works Eastern Region champion Mitchell Hunt and former regional king A.J. Ward to the $1,997 checkers on June 23 at Thunderbird Raceway. “We’ve got some tough guys we run against,” said Reay, one of 28 entries at Auburn, one of 37 at Muskegon and already on the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. “We’re going to keep taking the wins as we get them and not get a big head on us.”  He’d started outside pole at Tri-City and dueled with Ward before winning ahead of Brenten DeYoung. Rookie races to Tri-City checkers

(May 4) – Nobody could keep up with Nate Jones Friday at Tri-City Motor Speedway, as the Main Street Seed and Supply IMCA Modified rookie raced to his first career win in the class. A former pro stock champion, Jones made what became the winning pass just shy of halfway and dominated the rest of the way. At the finish, Jones was closely followed by last week’s winner Matt Szecsodi and Chris Cohoon.
