NORFOLK, Neb. (May 11, 2024) – The 2024 IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing season, and with it the chase for individual points championships, began Saturday night at Off Road Speedway.

Among the feature winners in the sanctioned classes competing on a weekly basis were Anthony Roth in the IMCA Sunoco Late Models, Cameron Wilkinson in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, Nic Kimmel in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and James Roebuck in the Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods.

Roth, a Columbus racer, started on the outside of row two in the Late Model feature and remained among the top five during the first half of the race while multi-time defending national champion Cory Dumpert held the lead.

With 11 laps left in the 25-lap race, a caution created an opportunity for Roth to get to the front. Dumpert drifted high in turn two before diving back to the inside, attempting to occupy the space between Roth and Chase Osborne, but as the cars sped down the backstretch Roth had the lead.

The final nine laps became a two-car competition for the win between Roth and the pursuing Dumpert while Nelson Vollbrecht, Devin Johnson and Osborne battled for third several car lengths behind them.

Roth held on for the win, with Dumpert taking second, and Vollbrecht finishing third.

A starting position on the inside of row two contributed to Wilkinson’s victory in the Stock Car feature, as the Neligh racer took over the lead just two laps into the race.

Wilkinson established a substantial lead quickly with Tejay Mielke also in solid control of second place. Justin Addison outdueled Chad Bruns of Wayne to take third.

Nic Kimmel led all 15 laps in his IMCA Hobby Stock feature win despite two restarts and a caution, but the end of the race became the equivalent of a photo finish.

Behind Kimmel, Lance Mielke came out on top of a multiple-car battle for second with Dustin Jackson, Mark Arduser, Wyatt Lehman, Joe Beller and Jace Malasek, then fell just a split-second short of overtaking Kimmel at the finish line. Jackson took third place.

And in the Northern SportMods, Roebuck captured the feature win after seizing the lead midway through the 15-lap race.

Roebuck, in turn four, and Pierce driver Cameron Meyer in turn two, both passed race leader Kyle Wilkinson and spent the remainder of the race navigating their way through lapped traffic.

Roebuck earned the win, with Meyer taking second and Wilkinson finishing third.
