CPT Racing Manufacturing renews IMCA awards with expansion plans in near future

SONOMA, Calif. (May 22, 2024) – The first parts Chris Compton made that he didn’t put on his own race car quickly sold on eBay.

Fast forward a decade and Compton, a former IMCA Modified driver, is making plans to expand his CPT Racing Manufacturing in a new location, while continuing awards programs for both special events and Super Nationals competitors for a seventh season.

A top five finisher at each of 45 designated Friesen Performance IMCA Modified and Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMod specials receives a $50 gift certificate, while the fourth place finisher in the Modified main event at the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s receives a CPT biscuit pull bar, the fourth place driver in the Northern SportMod main event a set of two link brackets.

“We are an innovative, solution-oriented company and can cater to a customer’s needs or design something specific they need,” the self-taught Compton said. “I believe our products are as good if not better as anybody’s.”

The suspension components specialist continues to expand that product line, most recently adding Modified and Stock Car shock absorbers. CPT now has dealers in nine states and Canada.

Compton started CPT Racing MFG by building five sets of Birdcages in his garage and selling on E-Bay.

“People started calling with requests for other parts and I made those part-time, while working full-time selling industrial supplies,” Compton said. “I started CPT 10 years ago in Sonoma and now we have plans to move to a 9,000 square foot facility, my dad Ira’s shop in my hometown of Chico. It’s an opportunity for us to expand even more and for me to spend time with my dad.”

“I’m excited,” he added. “This is just the beginning. This is going to explode. We don’t even have a salesman now. Wait until we do.”

Information about birdcages, pullbars, biscuits, coilover kits, spring cups, shocks and other CPT products is available by calling Compton at 707 515-0226, on Facebook and at the cptracingmfg.com website.

“We look forward to fruition of the CPT expansion plans,” said IMCA Marketing Integration and Sponsorship Director Carson Becker-Gramm, “and appreciate their continued support of special events and Super Nationals competitors in both the Modified and Northern SportMod divisions.”
