ARLINGTON, Minn. (July 6, 2024) – Track staff worked quickly to beat the incoming rain just west of Arlington Raceway to ensure the IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing program was complete and the NAPA fireworks show done.

They accomplished those tasks in record time as the rains came just as the last colors hit the sky. Drivers did an excellent job in all divisions as there was some great racing action throughout the night.

The IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature saw 24 cars start the feature and it was a dandy as Dakota Robinson and Brent Uecker raced side-by-side throughout, with each leading at the line and then trading positions.

As the white flag was going to be displayed, a yellow came out for a stalled car next to the front wall. When the cars realigned it was Uecker and Robinson battling again. Robinson pushed going into turn one and got too high and by  the time turn two came he had lost several positions.

Uecker became the leader but Curt Lund was reeling him in on the backstretch and took the high side coming out of turns three and four. Lund was able to nose past Uecker right at the finish line to win. Matt Looft took third and Luke Trebelhorn took fourth.

Blake Luinenburg made the trek to the track and made it worth his while as he was able to capture the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock win after starting 12th.

After a couple yellow flags, Cory Probst tried to battle with Luinenburg but had to settle for second and Jordan Robinson took third. The win was Luinenburg’s third in as many Arlington starts this season.

The Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compact feature was exciting as well when newcomer Oliver Monson, who started 10th, was able to move forward quickly and win the race. Jason Bolte took second and Dale Gatton took third.

Matt Johnson was in victory lane following the RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Car feature. Hunter Hanson led the first 12 laps but after a restart Johnson got around and led the remaining laps for the win. Hanson settled for second and Brandon Allen took third.

Chris Neisen had a great run in the Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMod main while hard charging Matt Looft, who had started 10thn was picking off cars one by one behind him.

Looft took a run at the leader and got by him with a few laps left to win the race. Neisen held on for second with Cole Hesse taking third.

Trent Loverude was fast in the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature as he led the distance to pick up the win. Clint Hatlestad moved up four spots throughout the race but Loverude had about half a lap distance on him so Hatlestad settled for second ahead of Dan Menk.
