Lamphere wins NY-Penn Series thriller at Selinsgrove

(June 30, 2023) – Brad Sites didn’t let anyone stay close the last four times around the track in winning the Friday night Close Racing Supply NY-Penn IMCA Modified Series presented by MR Grafix main event at The Hill Speedway. Sites’ first Friesen Performance IMCA Modified tour win of 2023 paid $1,000 and earned Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying eligibility for the 2021 series champion as well. Rodney Morgan, Gary Roberts, Matt Benjamin and Keith Lamphere completed the top five. Roberts picked up the Flow Force Pressure Services Hard Charger award after coming from the 13th starting position. The show at Monroeton saw 20 drivers vie in a 25-lap feature and Clayton Tarabori and Gary Lamphere brought the field to green. Tarabori led the first three circuits before giving way to Jake Maynard. Maynard, in turn, held the point until Sites motored past on lap 10. By Michael Benjamin  SUSQUEHANNA, Pa. (Sept. 16, 2023) – The second night of a weekend doubleheader took Close Racing Supply NY-Penn IMCA Modified Series presented by M.R. Graphix drivers to Penn Can Speedway Saturday and it was Rodney Morgan winning the annual Sean Lias Memorial race and $1,637. Also the series winner at Susquehanna in May and The Hill Speedway in July, Morgan’s latest run to the checkers was also good for 2024 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying eligibility. Dash winner Tyler Stoddard and Bobby Maynard paced the field to the green but Rich Michael Jr. came through the field from his fifth starting position to take the lead. Morgan found himself working his way up into the runner-up spot from sixth before a caution that bunched up the field and put him on the outside of Michael on the restart. SUSQUEHANNA, Pa. (May 25, 2022) – The Memorial Weekend sees touring Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds return to a familiar locale. Penn Can Speedway hosts round two of the Close Racing Supply NY-Penn IMCA Modified Series presented by Precision Hydraulic & Oil. The Sunday, May 29 main event pays $1,000 to win and a minimum of $100 to start. Winner of the 25-lapper at Susquehanna earns Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying eligibility. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Dirt Works Eastern Region and KMJ Performance State points, as well as series points, will be awarded. Pit gates open at 5 p.m. and racing follows 6:45 p.m. hot laps. Pit passes are $40.  The NY-Penn Series show will be broadcast by IMCA.TV and DirtTrackDigest.TV.  Eddie Sites won the series opener on April 30 at Skyline Raceway Motorsports Park.
