$5,000 payday at Sibley County Fair IMCA Stock Car Shootout

ARLINGTON, Minn. (July 6, 2024) – Track staff worked quickly to beat the incoming rain just west of Arlington Raceway to ensure the IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing program was complete and the NAPA fireworks show done. They accomplished those tasks in record time as the rains came just as the last colors hit the sky. Drivers did an excellent job in all divisions as there was some great racing action throughout the night.  The IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature saw 24 cars start the feature and it was a dandy as Dakota Robinson and Brent Uecker raced side-by-side throughout, with each leading at the line and then trading positions.  As the white flag was going to be displayed, a yellow came out for a stalled car next to the front wall. ARLINGTON, Minn. (May 8) – Opening night at Arlington Raceway saw 128 cars in action and Matt Olson in victory lane after the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock lidlifter.  Mason Goettl led the first few laps from his front row starting spot before defending national and track champion Cory Probst, who had started 12th, came calling. Olson had been picking off cars and got around Probst following a restart to take over the lead and led the remaining laps to win the race. Probst took second and Goettl took third. The IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature did not disappoint. Jeff Larson started in the third row and going into turn two got around five cars to take the lead. ARLINGTON, Minn. (Sept. 24, 2022) – Season championship races did not disappoint Saturday at Arlington Raceway as there was great racing action all night long.  The Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compact feature saw 20 drivers start the race. Marschall Robinson was the early leader but soon had to hold off Nate Coopman and the two traded spots for the first four laps before Coopman went pit side with a flat tire. Robinson led the next two laps before Jason Bolte, who had started 12th, got around him. On lap 10, a yellow came out for Logan Kelly, who had moved into second and Alan Lahr, who was right with him along with Brock Braunworth.  The checkers were thrown with Bolte winning, Justin Dose second and Josh Backstrom third.  Chris Hansen won the mechanics’ race. A first lap yellow flag came out in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock feature when a flat tire sent Cory Probst to the pits for the rest of the night.
