ARLINGTON, Minn. (Mar. 24, 2025) — Nearly 300 attendees gathered to celebrate the 2024 Arlington Raceway season during the annual Awards Banquet at Jackpot Junction Casino Hotel in Morton, Minnesota. The evening recognized driver achievements, community involvement, and marked the transition into the 2025 racing season.
Perfect Attendance Awards were presented to 58 dedicated drivers who participated in every event during the season.
Rookie of the Year honors were awarded to Mac Tollefson in the Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stocks, Marc Grey in the Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts, Scott Koep in the Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMods, Hunter Hansen in the RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Cars, Jed Trebelhorn in the Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars, and T.J. Brockman in the Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds.
The “Cause It’s Fun” Award, recognizing positive attitude and sportsmanship, went to George Motto in the Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stocks, Marc Grey in the Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts, Scott Koep in the Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMods, Kyla Anderson in the RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Cars, Randy Melvin in the Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars, and Wayne Gouvig in the Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds.
Most Improved Driver awards for 2024 were presented to Chad Volk in the Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stocks, Justin Dose in the Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts, Broddy Enter in the Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMods, Kyla Anderson in the RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Cars, Daniel Eckblad in the Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars, and Trent Loverude in the Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds.
The Arlington Raceway Scholarship Memorial Committee awarded scholarships to five young women pursuing higher education. Taylor Moos of Gaylord, Lauryn Menk of Fairfax, Mackenzie Enter of New Ulm, Hailey Oestreich of Belle Plaine, and Liberty Allen of Nicollet were all recognized for their essays on how their involvement with Arlington Raceway has helped shape their future goals.
The Floyd & Margelet Allen Memorial for Family Participation was awarded to the Eric Larson family, while the prestigious Jeff Rucks Memorial Sportsmanship Award went to Trent Loverude.
The Top 10 in each weekly division were recognized, with the 2024 track champions being Cory Probst in the Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stocks, Alan Lahr in the Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts, Matthew Looft in the Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMods, Brett Allen in the RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Cars, Matthew Looft again in the Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars, and Trent Loverude in the Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds.
The banquet marked the close of the 2024 season and the official start of the 2025 campaign. A Test-N-Tune is scheduled for April 26 at Arlington Raceway to kick off the new year.
This year will be the 45th consecutive season that the Allen family has operated the Arlington Raceway. Weekly racing will again feature the Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts, Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stocks, Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMods, RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Cars, Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars, and Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds.
