SPENCER, Iowa (Mar. 28, 2025) — Two-time and reigning IMCA Modified National Champion Chaz Baca Jr. of Mesa, Arizona, opened his Razor Chassis North Central Region campaign with a win in the 20-lap Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature at Clay County Fair Speedway during the Iowa Spring Nationals.
Baca led early after passing reigning Kossuth County Speedway champ Cody Knecht, but a misstep on lap eight allowed two-time Harris Clash winner Kelly Shryock to take over. Cody Thompson then grabbed second before Baca battled back, reclaiming the top spot with a slider in turn three on lap 15. After trading the lead once more, Baca secured the position for good on lap 16 and held off Shryock in traffic for his seventh win of the season. Shryock was second while Thompson finished third.
Deschamp Digs Deep for Stock Car Victory
Westhope, North Dakota’s Gabe Deschamp, a 20-year-old standout, scored his first EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region win of the year in the Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars. Deschamp led early before the defending Speedway Motors IMCA Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s winner Kelly Shryock, running double duty, briefly took the lead.
Deschamp fired back on lap seven and checked out as Shryock tried to close the gap late. On the final restart, two-time Iowa State champion Mike “Wahoo” Albertsen powered past Shryock for second, leaving the veteran to settle for third at the double checkers.

Fett Flies Late for SportMod Score
Defending IMCA Stock Car Rookie of the Year Colby Fett led early in the Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMod main before two-time defending Worthington Speedway champion Connor Vande Weerd took command. Reigning Tougher Than Dirt Tour champion Gabe Deschamp moved into second after passing Fett, who exited to the pits under caution.
Four-time Hancock County Speedway champ Alec Fett took over the charge, grabbing second from Deschamp and tracking down Vande Weerd. With a high-side pass on lap 17, Alec Fett claimed his first win of the season. Vande Weerd and Deschamp completed the podium.

Probst Powers to Hobby Stock Win
Cory Probst, the two-time and reigning National Hobby Stock champion, charged from 10th to win his first B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region race of 2025. Probst pressured early leader Dayton Ullrich and finally made the pass in turn four on lap 15.
Ullrich kept it close until a late yellow forced him to the infield under caution. Probst pulled away on the final restart, while Jason Kohl and Nick Schilling rounded out the top three.

Volkert Outlasts Limoges for Sport Compact Victory
2024 Crawford County Speedway champ Levi Volkert led early in the Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compact main before Justice Limoges worked the bottom to take the lead on lap four. Volkert quickly struck back in traffic to reclaim the lead a lap later.
IMCA.TV Winter Nationals winner Gilbert Aldape challenged Limoges for second as Volkert pulled away. Limoges made a final run on the high side but had to settle for second, with Aldape third.
