HAYS, Kan. (Mar. 29, 2025) — The 20-lap Sunoco IMCA Stock Car main was one of the most stellar races on the final night of the 13th Annual Sunflower Classic at RPM Speedway. The feature began with Johnny Yutterman and Kolby Stegman on the front row, but it didn’t take long for Jason Rogers and Troy Burkhart to charge to the front.

The veteran duo battled tightly and cleanly throughout the race. In the final corner, Burkhart surged past Rogers in a thrilling drag race to the finish — winning by less than eight hundredths of a second.

Burkhart earned his first win of the season in the EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region. David Murray Jr. grabbed second, followed by Bobby Eubanks in third, Rogers in fourth, and Yutterman in fifth.

Money Brings New Car to RPM Victory Lane

The 20-lap Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature started with Greg Gustus and Tim Hamilton led the field to green, with Gustus getting the early jump as Hamilton tried to keep pace.

A few laps in, Clay Money and Tanner Black joined the battle up front. Money eventually worked his way around Gustus and powered ahead. Driving a brand-new Rage Chassis, he collected his first victory of the 2025 season in the Jet Racing Central Region.

Tanner Black crossed the line in second, Gustus was third, Jeremy Frenier finished fourth, and Friday night’s winner Dakota Sproul completed the top five.

Walt Returns to Sport Mod Victory Lane!

The 20-lap Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMod feature started with Tyler Watts and Blaine Walt on the front row. Watts controlled the early portion, but Walt grabbed the lead just before halfway.

Despite a couple of cautions in the second half, Watts never got back around Walt. Blaine Walt brought his Fury Chassis to victory lane for the first time in 2025.

Watts finished second, Riley Osantowski took third, Cody Gearhart was fourth, and Brady Bencken rounded out the top five.

Richards Outlasts Williams in the Hobby Stock

The 20-lap Sunco IMCA Stock Car feature began with Dillon Thompson and Cody Williams on the front row. The two raced door-to-door early, until Richards joined the battle just past halfway.

Williams led the first 15 laps, but Richards made the decisive move and held on. It marked Richards’ ninth win of the 2025 season, following several victories in Arizona during the IMCA.TV Winter Nationals, but first in the B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region.

Williams was second, Bell finished third, Thompson came home fourth, and Dion Priddy was fifth.

Schwien Scores Compact Victory

Connor Schwien jumped out front early of the 15-lap Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compact main event and never looked back. Late in the race, Martinez made a charge to challenge for the weekend sweep, but Schwien held him off.

Connor Schwien claimed the win. Martinez was second, Kyle Mortensen third, Kaishen Brack fourth, and Brin McAtee fifth.
