ARDMORE, Okla. (Mar. 29, 2025) — Six-time reigning South Central Region champion William Gould put on a clinic in the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature at Southern Oklahoma Speedway, earning his first win of 2025.

Steve Askew, the 2021 South Central Region Rookie of the Year, led the opening laps until a lap 4 move by Gould in turn one put the Calera driver out front. Multiple cautions followed, but Gould stayed in command.

Later, Michael Ables stormed from 18th to second and began challenging Gould in the closing laps. Ables took shots on both the bottom and top grooves but couldn’t make a pass stick as the 2013 National champ held strong to seal the 20-lap win. Kyle Robinson charged from 25th to finish third.

Zentgraf Rolls to First SportMod Win of 2025

Wichita Falls, Texas racer Payton Zentgraf led from start to finish in the 20-lap Smiley’s Racing Products IMCA Southern SportMod feature.

Zentgraf jumped to the early lead and built a massive advantage while chaos unfolded behind him. Camo Gaston briefly climbed to second with a bold double pass on lap 6 but suffered mechanical issues just moments later, handing the spot back to Case Penrod.

Devin Chambers later took over second before the race’s only caution came on lap 11. On the restart, Zentgraf was flawless, pulling away once again to collect his first win of the year. Chambers and Penrod rounded out the podium.
