Nezworski Wins Late Model Feature at Davenport opener

DAVENPORT, Iowa (Apr. 11, 2025) – Despite a chill in the air, the Koehler Electric Season Opener at Davenport Speedway, provided a great night of racing. That was until you made it to the tech area. A number of drivers were guilty of infractions throughout the evening. Some even changed the outcome of races.
 
Bryce Garnhart dominated the Sunoco IMCA Late Model feature. Bryce led all twenty-five laps and finished more than seven seconds ahead of the second-place car. Unfortunately, he came across the scales fifteen pounds light in post-race inspection.

That handed the win to Andy Nezworski, who started in seventh. Matt Ryan finished second with pole sitter Jake Morris taking third. It was Nezworski’s first win of 2025.
 
Kyle Montgomery picked up the win in the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified main. Kyle swapped the lead a couple of times with pole sitter Kaity Sample early in the race. He took the lead for good on lap five, but still had to hold off the challenges of Logan Veloz and Charlie Mohr to earn his first score in the Razor Chassis North Central Region. Mohr would finish second, followed by Wisconsin racer Derek Thompson.
 
The Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMod feature was won by Tony Olson of Cedar Rapids. Olson’s biggest challenge in the race was surviving the restarts but he would hold everyone back for his first victory of the new campaign. Cole Suckow made a late race charge to finish second. Levi Laymon was third. 
 
Randy LaMar went from the outhouse to the penthouse in the Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stock feature. Randy was tenth after lap one, but quickly move to the lead by lap five. Nick Proehl finished second. Daniel Wauters took third.  It was the first visit to the winner’s circle in the B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region this season.

IMCA Modified Madness at Davenport pays $2,000 to win

DAVENPORT, Iowa – IMCA Modifieds chase a top check of $2,000 along with a berth on the ballot for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational at Davenport Speedway’s Friday, May 18 Modified Madness 50 special. The main event pays a minimum of $100 to start. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Side Biter Chassis North Central Region and Iowa State points, but no track points will be awarded. Modifieds are draw/redraw. There is a $50 entry fee. Pit gates open at 4:30 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. Hot laps are at 5:45 p.m. with racing to follow. Spectator admission is $15 for adults, $13 for seniors and students, and free for kids ages 12 and under. Pit passes are $30. IMCA Late Models and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods are also on the program that evening, vying for all points.  All racing will be on the quarter-mile oval. Davenport opens April 22 with $1,000 to win features for IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Late Models

DAVENPORT, Iowa (April 14, 2022) – Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds and IMCA Sunoco Late Models both race for $1,000 to win in the regular season opener next Friday, April 22 at Davenport Speedway. The Modified winner becomes eligible to qualify for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational; Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods are also on the card as pit gates open at 4 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. Hot laps are at 6:30 p.m. with racing to follow.  Pits passes are $30. Grandstand admission is adults $12, kids ages 5-10 $5 and four and under free.

Toland, Dominacki, Blum take IMCA wins at Davenport

By Mike McGuire DAVENPORT, Iowa (June 29) – The first race night of summer at the Davenport Speedway was an interesting one.  Adding to the excitement was a partial loss of power, two-thirds of the way through the racing program. The Petersen Plumbing & Heating IMCA Late Model feature went green, white, checkered again. Rob Toland collected his second win of the season in the division. Toland got out front early and held the lead the rest of the way to the checkers. A dandy three-way battle for second went to Chuck Hanna, with Matt Ryan taking third. Bob Dominacki took home the trophy in the Eriksen Chevrolet IMCA Modified feature. The win was Dominacki’s first point victory at Davenport since 2014. He took the lead after a lap 15 restart and had to hold off Toland and Mitch Morris down the stretch for the win. Morris ended up second with Toland third.
