MAQUOKETA, Iowa (Apr. 19, 2025) — An electrifying green-white-checkered finish capped what many deemed the race of the night at Maquoketa Speedway, as the Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stocks thrilled fans with nonstop action across the smooth, wide ¼-mile. Clarence’s Dan Mohr stood tall when the dust settled, emerging from packs of cars running three- and four-wide lap after lap in a feature that came down to the wire.
Kile Vohringer led the first thirteen circuits of the 15-lap main event, but under a late caution his left rear tire went flat, forcing him to the pit area. On the restart, Mohr emerged from a chaotic pack to lead the final two laps, edging out the field by half a car length. It marked Mohr’s first trip to victory lane in the B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region this season. Lukas Short and Jordan Miles crossed the line in second and third.

The Sunoco IMCA Late Models main event kicked off with a strong field of 18 drivers taking the green flag. Travis Denning took advantage of a front row draw on Saturday night and paced the field the entire 25 laps. A lap fifteen caution bunched the field, and, on the restart, Andy Nezworski was able to pull alongside Denning but was unable to make the pass.
Denning took the checkers a car length ahead of Nezworski for his first win of the new campaign. Bryce Garnhart crossed the line in third.

Defending Friesen Performance IMCA Modified track champion, Jeff “Bone” Larson scored another Maquoketa win. Larson advanced to the front from the third row on lap four and got around Jaden Fryer to be the new race leader.
The Freeport, Illinois driver rode the high side to the victory, taking the checkers ahead of a fast-closing Spencer Diercks, for his second win in the Razor Chassis North Central Region this season. Diercks came all the way to the front from after starting ninth. Fryer stayed on the podium and ended the night third.

Another defending Maquoketa track champion, Jacob Ellithorpe scored the win in the Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars. Ellithorpe raced into the lead early in the race by overtaking Kodey Miles. Miles ran with Ellithorpe the entire main event but had to settle for second as he couldn’t find a way around the leader.
It was the first victory of the season for the hometown racer in the EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region. Miles was a respectable runner-up while Gage Neal placed third.

The Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMods saw young Nathan Silaggi back up his Nifty 50 win by topping a 20-car starting field. Silaggi is off to a hot start in his new Harris Racing IMCA SportMod.
Ryan Reed led the first few laps before the caution flag came out and Silaggi overtook him after the restart. Silaggi took the win, his second of the year, ahead of Reed and Jacob Arp.
