Banks Blasts from Thirteenth to First at Lincoln County

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (Apr. 26, 2025) — D.J. Banks stole the show Saturday night at Lincoln County Raceway, roaring from 13th on the grid to the front of the pack to win an electrifying Sunoco IMCA Stock Car feature. The driver out of Brush, Colorado made his move just past the halfway mark and never looked back, collecting both the victor’s purse and his first EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region triumph of 2025. Robert Leonard and Tyler Barribo completed the podium after a hard-fought battle behind him.

In the Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMods, Jacob Olmstead of Overton thrilled fans with a masterful drive from 10th to first. It took Olmstead only ten laps to claim the lead, and once he got out front, he remained unchallenged to secure his first win of the new campaign. Joseph Cooper and Ryan Arbogast ran strong races to finish second and third.

The Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stock feature was packed with excitement. Zach Olmstead picked up his fourth B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region win of the year, charging from seventh to the lead on lap 11. It marked his second trip to victory lane at Lincoln County in 2025. He was followed closely by Trent Matson and Robbie Kosmacek.

In Friesen Performance IMCA Modified action, Brady’s own Dave Pedersen dominated from start to finish to secure the winner’s check. Pedersen’s flag-to-flag performance earned him his first Jet Racing Central Region win of the season. Ayden Steffens and Tanner Clough completed the top three.

The Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compact feature saw Grand Island’s Justin Schmidt outpace the field for a wire-to-wire victory—his second of the year at Lincoln County. Anthony Simants and Brin McAtee crossed the line in second and third after a clean and competitive race.

Competition is fierce at Lincoln County lidlifter

(April 24) – Getting the season started off on the right foot, the competition was fierce for top honors during the 2021 Lincoln County Raceway season opener on Saturday night. Earning elite accolades for their efforts to be spotlighted in victory lane were Dillon Schultz, Troy Bayne, Mikey Dancer, Tanner Clough and Ted Trumbo. Starting on the inside of the second row, Schultz grabbed the lead early and never look back to earn the IMCA Modified victory. Stalking Schultz much of the event was Brandon Clough as he tried to catfish around the low side of the track as well test the waters on the cushion but it was too little, too late and Clough was forced to settle for runner-up honors. Clough tames IMCA Modified foes at Wild West Challenge

By Kelly Ninas NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (June 7) – Competitors came from far and wide to Lincoln County Raceway, to challenge for big money at Friday night’s Wild West Challenge. When the checkers flew, Brandon Clough had raced to his first IMCA Modified victory of the season, good for $1,100 and a berth on the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. Clough started on the inside of the second row and battled for position in the early going before taking took the lead on the seventh lap and setting sail for the win. Early leader Cole Hodges was the runner-up while veteran wheelman David Murray Jr. was third. Also racing their way to the top step of the podium were Kyle Vanover in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, Luke Wassom in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, Jacob Olmstead in the Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods and Terry Tritt in the Mach-1 Sport Compacts. Tritt dominates Lincoln County opener

By Kelly Ninas NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (April 27) – The word to describe Terry Tritt’s on-track performance on opening night Saturday at Lincoln County Raceway was dominating. Tritt started on the pole in the D & S Automotive IMCA Sport Compact feature and ran away and hid from the rest of the podium finishers. Quincy Eggleston ran out of real estate once he got to second and didn’t have enough laps remaining to dent the deficit behind the leader. Darryl Cauffman was third. Jacob Slough won for the first time in his North Platte GMC Buick IMCA Northern SportMod career, outrunning Dillon Schultz. Eddie Belec led start to finish of the Maxwell Offroad Center IMCA Modified main event while Mike Nichols worked his way from inside row six at the start to first at the finish of the Knucklehead Garage IMCA Stock Car feature. Luke Wassom motored from the fourth row and led the last two circuits in winning the Herrick Auto & Marine IMCA Hobby Stock feature.

Moore Outduels Blood in Wild Grays Harbor Modified Thriller

(Apr. 26, 2025) — Craig Moore of Seabeck led all 25 laps of the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified main event at Grays Harbor Raceway, but to earn his first win of the 2025 season in the Shaw Race Cars Western Region was anything but easy. Moore took command at the drop of the green, quickly distancing himself from Scott Miller while the action behind was absolute chaos. The race from third through eighth went two- and even three-wide early on, as Tyson Blood carved his way forward from the 10th starting position. After a pair of early cautions, Austin Rognlin powered into second and Blood cracked the top three. Logan Veloz Takes First Late Model Win at Davenport

By Mike McGuire DAVENPORT, Iowa (Apr. 25, 2025) — Logan Veloz scored his first ever Sunoco IMCA Late Model feature win. The 21-year-old Colona, Illinois driver took the lead of the race on lap 3 and never looked back. Veloz becomes the third different Late Model feature winner at Davenport in as many races this season. Travis Denning started on the pole in the race and led the first two laps before finishing second. Evan Miller was third. The full field of Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds was sprinkled with some top-name talent. Wisconsin’s Skyler Woods jumped out to the early lead in the 20-lap main. However, the race would be halted by a red flag on lap 5. An eight-car pile-up on the frontstretch blocked most of the track. All drivers involved were able to walk away from the incident.
