The Final Ride at Stuart ends with Marriott in victory lane

STUART, Iowa (July 2) – Everything about the Ron Little Memorial was big.

A track record 141 cars took to the track Tuesday for the 20th and final event at Stuart Speedway. Forty-seven of those entries were IMCA Modifieds and Hunter Marriott wrote his name in as the $2,000 feature winner of a 30-lapper that ran green to checkers.

Dubbed The Final Ride by members of the late IMCA Modified driver’s family, the main event saw Mar­riott and Travis Hatcher show the way, with Marriott leading Josh Most and Hatcher early on.

Cody Laney advanced to third on lap four and with three and even four wide racing back in the pack it was still Marriott out front at the halfway point.

Lapped traffic started around this time, but Marriott was smooth and strong as he went on to lead the entire way to pick up the top check. The Missouri speedster was already qualifier for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. 

Jeff Aikey came from tenth to second in his first ever visit to Stuart with 14th starting Jesse Sob­bing third, Most fourth and Laney fifth.

Buck Schafroth took the lead early and stayed there to the $1,000 IMCA Sunoco Stock Car check­ers.

A caution set up a four-lap dash to the checkers with Brandon Pruitt and then Mike Nichols challeng­ing before Schafroth took the checkers.

Both Modified and Stock Car events were part of the Arnold Motor Supply Midwest Madness Tour.

Doug Smith followed the mid-program fireworks display with an impressive show of his own, win­ning the Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod feature and $1,000.

Eleventh starting Solomon Bennett topped the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock feature and Chris Vannausdle won the Mach-1 Sport Compact main event.

Zevenbergen, Logue land Dirt Duel wins

By Josh Reynolds STUART, Iowa (June 3) – Elijah Zevenbergen and Johnathon Logue were $3,000 feature winners on the third night of Stuart Speedway’s Dynamic Drivelines Dirt Duel. Zevenbergen grabbed the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car checkers ahead of second-year speedster Dallon Murty Wednesday night while Logue beat Cody Thompson to the Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod finish by not much more than the width of his bumper.  Zevenbergen and Todd VanEaton brought the Stock Car field to the green flag. Zevenbergen took control early in the 50-lapper as Murty worked his way through to second just before a caution came out on lap 21.  Murty bobbled on lap 40 and allowed his father Damon to take over second place. Stuart’s Bill Davis Sr. Memorial sports $1,000 IMCA Modified top prize

STUART, Iowa – IMCA Modifieds run for $1,000 to win, a Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot berth and a sweet, throwback-style trophy at Stuart Speedway’s May 5 Bill Davis Sr. Memorial.  IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods, IMCA STARS Mod Lites and Mach-1 Sport Compacts are also on the Wednesday night card and receive retro trophies as well. Extra money will be paid in all divisions and there will be prizes for every driver entered. Pit gates open at 5 p.m. with hot laps at 6:45 p.m. and racing to follow. Pit passes are $25 or $15 for non-competing youth ages 6-13. Grandstand admission is $12 for adults, $5 for youth ages 9-16 and free for eight and under. Sachau, Murty, Purdy are dynamic at Stuart

By Josh Reynolds STUART, Iowa (June 16) – Jake Sachau, Dallon Murty and Jeremy Purdy were all dynamic on night two of the Dynamic Drivelines Dirt Duel at Stuart Speedway.  Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods were the first Dirt Duel feature on the track with Brayton Carter and Dylan VanWyk leading the field to green. VanWyk led early until Carter slid by to take the lead a third of the way through the 35-lap event. Carter held it through a several yellows before Sachau used a restart to take the lead on lap 25. Carter gave it his all but Sachau was too strong as he went on to the $2,500 win. Carter finished second with Izac Mallicoat third, Cam Reimers fourth and VanWyk fifth.  Chanse Hollatz and Abe Huls led the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars to the green flag for their 40-lap feature, next with Hollatz leading the first 11 laps.
