Shute dominates IMCA Modifieds at Stuart’s Durbin Memorial

STUART, Iowa (May 12) – A dominating run ended with Todd Shute standing in victory lane at Stuart Speedway’s Jake Durbin Memorial.

Shute and Josh Gilman made up the front row of the IMCA Modified headliner, and Shute led Gilman and Matthew Meinecke early with the rest of the field two- and three-wide behind. 

Chase Rudolf made it to third on lap eight, but it was all Shute on this night as he drove to the caution-free win, worth $1,000. Already on the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot, Shute won ahead of Gilman in second with Rudolf third. 

One hundred and thirty-four cars rolled into town for the Wednesday night show. Other IMCA winners were Damon Murty, Josh May, Brandon Cox, Hunter Longnecker and Craig Furstenau. 

Michael Jeannette and Bob Daniels led the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars to the green flag next with Jeannette leading early. Damon Murty and Dallon Murty were picking them off throughout the 20 lap event and on the final restart it was Damon using the top side to get out front and take the win. Dallon finished a close second with Johnathon Logue third. 

May took control early and sailed to the IMCA STARS Mod Lite win. Cody Yaw finished second with Bryan Zehm third. 

Dylan Nelson and Austin Barnes were on the front row for the start of the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock feature. Nelson led the first nine laps with Cox muscling his way by on lap 10.

A caution with two to go bunched the field and gave everyone a chance at Cox, but he was too strong and held on for the win. Nelson finished second with Solomon Bennett third.

A pair of 93 cars brought the Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods out with Colton Nelson and Longnecker showing the field to the green flag. Longnecker controlled the pace early and often as he drove away from the field to take the comfortable win. Nic Runyan finished second with Brayton Carter close behind in third. 

Mach-1 Sport Compacts came to the speedway for the last race of the night with Owen Richards and Russell Klisaris out front. Klisaris led early until slipping to the infield off the bumper of Kolby Sabin. Furstenau took advantage of the restart to get out front and take the win with Curtis Masterson second and Mark Smith third.

Meinecke scores Modified win at Stuart

By Josh Reynolds STUART, Iowa (June 5) – Matthew Meinecke was the IMCA Modified winner on a warm Wednesday night at Stuart Speedway. Meinecke led Cory Sauerman and Josh Gilman when the first lap was scored; Gilman got to second on lap three with Clay Money giving chase. The top three stayed the same until Kyle Brown worked his way past Money on lap 18 for third. Gilman used the whole track to reel in the leader, but it was not to be as Meinecke went on to the win. Gilman finished second with Brown third.  Buck Schafroth was the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car winner, by a margin of less than a car length over Bran­don Pruitt. The race was for second as Garrett Nelson checked out early in the Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod contest.  Shannon Anderson worked his way through traffic en route to the lead and the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock checkers.

IMCA Frostbuster starts 60th season at Stuart Speedway

By Josh Reynolds  STUART, Iowa (March 30) – The engines came to life Tuesday evening with drivers from all around in attendance for the IMCA Frostbuster opener at Stuart Speedway. Feature winners for the night were Cay­den Carter, Dallon Murty, Brayton Carter and Brandon Cox. Tony Hilgenberg and Jake McBirnie led a stacked IMCA Modified field to the green flag with Clay Money getting the jump from his fourth starting spot to lead lap one. Derrick Stewart slid into second on lap three as Money continued to lead. A couple yellows in the middle of the race tightened the field and set up a great run to the finish. Walrod Memorial checkers to Kinderknecht

STUART, Iowa (July 24, 2023) – Monday brought the Clint Walrod Memorial for suicide awareness to the Karl Chevrolet of Stuart International Speedway. IMCA winners for the night were Jake Paysen, Nick Roberts, Skylar Pruitt, Taylor Kuehl, Todd Shute and Justin Kinderknecht. Jake Paysen and David Kimmel paced the Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts for the first two laps when the red flag flew for third place running Owen Richards as he got upside down in turn one. Richards was ok but his night was over. Once the green came back out it was all Paysen to the checkers as he took the win. Kolby Sabin finished second with Stephen Stiteler third, Kimmel fourth and Curtis Masterson fifth. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars came out next with Nick Roberts taking command early on.
