Karl Companies give crate engine awards on final night of 40th IMCA Super Nationals

DES MOINES, Iowa (May 11, 2022) – The Karl Companies return to the Saturday night stage at Super Nationals with three of the most sought-after awards in all of IMCA racing.

Karl Kustoms and Karl Chevrolet present a 604 crate engine to the Modified champion, and 602 crate engines to Hobby Stock and Northern SportMod champions crowned on Sept. 10, the final night of the 40thannual Super Nationals at Boone Speedway.

2022 is the 24th sponsorship season for Karl Chevrolet, the Midwest’s number one Chevrolet and GM Certified Dealer, and Karl Kustoms, the Midwest’s high performance parts manufacturer and distributor designated as the Preferred Engine Supplier of IMCA Racing.

“We’ve been at this quite some time,” said Marketing Director Clint Quesinberry, noting Karl’s long-standing partnership with General Motors in awarding engines at the biggest event in all of dirt track racing.

“Super Nationals is the premier event for IMCA racing,” he continued. “It’s good to be able to reward the best of the best and be able to give them a new engine.”

Drivers winning Super Nationals championships and accompanying crate engines last September were Cody Laney in the Modifieds, Austen Becerra in the Northern SportMods and Mike Smith in the Hobby Stocks.

“We have always been a sponsor of the SportMod division, but now we are recognized as the Preferred Engine Supplier of IMCA Racing,” Quesinberry said. “This year we are pivoting our marketing and sponsorship with IMCA and racers.”
