Roedl, Czarapata capture checkers at Outagamie

SEYMOUR, Wis. (July 8, 2022) – Dan Roedl and Brandon Czarapata were among the IMCA winners as 127 racers checked in to do battle Friday at Outagamie Speedway. 

Shawn Frelich led the opening laps of the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature until Marcus Yarie motored to the top spot on lap four. Yarie then paced the field until the caution flew midway through the contest. 

Roedl used that his advantage, pulling next to Yarie for the top spot. Roedl rode the top side to perfection, taking the lead on lap 12. Cody Schroeder got to second late in the going but no one had anything for Roedl, who picked up his first win of the season and a clean sweep to boot. 

Schroeder had to settle for second at the pay window, rookie Jayden Schmidt was third, Brian Mullen took fourth and Yarie completed the top five.

Jeff Steenbergen and Czarapata went to battle from the drop off the green in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car headliner. Czarapata worked the tires as Steenbergen stormed the cushion. 

The duo exchanged the lead several times until Czarapata was able to take the lead for good with eight laps remaining to score his first win of the season. Clint Forstner made a late-race charge to place second, with a third going to Kyle Frederick. Chase Parker placed fourth and Steenbergen was fifth.

In the IMCA Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMod feature, it was a three-car battle for the top spot as Taylor Haufschildt, Jake Carpenter and Goeff Jeche duked it out. 

Haufschildt held the top spot until Jeche slipped by on lap 10. Jeche quickly came under attack from Carpenter. A caution with five laps remaining set up a dash to the checkers. Carpenter came to call, pulling to the outside of Jeche. 

On the final lap, Carpenter was able to use the momentum up top to take the lead. Carpenter went on to win his second feature in a row.  Jeche had to settle for second, Will Garceau had his best run of the season to place third, Derek Fehling took fourth and Cory Kemkes was fifth.

Kegan Van Ooyen took the lead on the second lap of the Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compact feature and never looked back, cruising to his second win of the season. Last week’s winner Matt Brehmer was second, Thomas Schulte took third, rookie Collyn Jorgenson was fourth and Bailey Tate completed the top five.

Wilson, Rhodes race to first IMCA wins at Outagamie

By Edward Anschutz  SEYMOUR, Wis. (June 19) – The weather held off for fans and racers who joined Outagamie Speedway powered by EWSC for night number two. Fans were greeted to 128 cars doing battle. Hunter Parsons looked to be the man to beat early in the IMCA Modified feature as he pulled out to an early lead. Parsons paced the field with Jason Czarapata, Brian Mullen and Tyler Wilson giving chase. Czarapata’s night came to an abrupt end as his machine lost the right rear wheel just past the midway point. With the field bunched up Wilson went to work down low, wrestling the lead away on lap 14. Wilson pulled away for his first win in the Modified ranks. Parsons had to the settle for second at the pay window, Wyatt Block rallied to place third, Mullen was fourth and Mar­cus Yarie completed the top five. Parker, Czarapata perfect at Outagamie

(Aug. 2) – Although Chase Parker led every lap of the IMCA Modified feature Friday at Outagamie Speedway, the race to the checkers wasn’t easy by any means.  Defending track champion Marcus Yarie worked his way from row four to the runner-up position midway through the contest. With five circuits remaining, Yarie dove inside for the lead but lapped track halted his pursuit and Parker picked up his second win of the season.   Travis Van Straten jumped out as the early leader in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars over Jer­emy Wiitala. The duo ran door-to-door for the top spot until Brandon Czarapata made it three-wide.  Czarapata slipped by down low to take the lead on lap five. The battle for second became lively as Josh Mroczkowski and point leader Eric Arneson began to tussle with Van Straten. Mroczkow­ski secured the runner-up spot with five laps remaining.  Although Mroczkowski closed in late it was Czarapta scoring his second feature win of the sea­son. Mullen denies Andersen weekend sweep

By Edward Anschutz SEYMOUR, Wis. (Aug. 19) – J.J. Andersen went into the Sunday night IMCA Modified event at Outagamie Speedway seeking a weekend sweep but Brian Mullen had other ideas. The winner Friday at Luxemburg Speedway and Saturday at 141 Speedway, Anderson jumped to the early lead and appeared to be well on his way to completing the 3-for-3 weekend. Mullen raced from row four into the runner-up spot on lap five. With Andersen and Mullen both running the top groove, it looked as if that’s how they would finish but a caution on lap eight changed everything. With Mullen restarting down low, Andersen switched to the bottom of the track and allowed Mullen the preferred line up top. Mullen took the lead, going unchallenged the remainder of the event for the win. Andersen ended in second. Tyler Wilson, Johnny Whitman and Benji LaCrosse completed the top five. Brandon Czarapata checked out in winning the caution-free IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature while Jason Ebert was never challenged in racing to his second straight Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod victory.
