Mroczkowski mauls Outagamie Stock Car foes

SEYMOUR, Wis. (May 17, 2024) – Josh Mroczkowski’s IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature win at Outagamie Speedway Friday night was beyond impressive for a couple of reasons.

For starters, the Krakow racer’s margin of victory at the checkers was a mere .028 seconds. What’s more, Mroczkowski fought off a pair of former IMCA national champions to the line in the process – Pulaski drivers Rod Snellenberger and Brandon Czarapata.

Mroczkowski started inside row two of the 20 lap contest and wrestled the lead away from Keegan Van Ooyen on lap four.

As the laps clicked off, Snellenberger and Czarapata, who started in the fifth and sixth rows, respectively, began methodically picking off their opponents one-by-one and began to gradually reel in the Krakow Ace.

A late race caution bunched up the field, and despite Snellenberger’s best efforts Mroczkowski beat Snellenberger at the line by mere inches. The margin was so close the finish had to be confirmed by transponder scoring.

Snellenberger settled for runner-up money, with Czarapata, Nick Buckarma and Devin Snellenberger rounding out the top five finishers.

It was a case of heartbreak in victory lane for a pair of open wheel racers.

Both of the drivers who crossed the finish line first in Friesen Performance IMCA Modified and Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMod features were docked two spots for post-race tech violations. Hence, wiping out their victories.

As a result, Marcus Yarie was declared the winner in the IMCA Modified division while the same fete was awarded to Matthew Radtke in the IMCA Northern SportMods.

Brett Deprez was the class of the field in the Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts as he led every lap en route to victory.

Action resumes Friday, May 24 for the annual Old Glory Flight/Memorial Day special. Action begins at 6:30 p.m.

Czarapata gets first Outagamie win of season

By Edward Anschutz SEYMOUR, Wis. (June 25) – Friday’s IMCA Modified headliner at Outagamie Speedway started with J.J. Andersen jumping to an early lead as Cody Schroeder and Jason Czarapata gave chase. Czarapata was the first to work the cushion, working his way around Schroeder for second. Czarapata set his sights on Andersen, who was running the tires. Czarapata swept around Andersen and to the lead on lap nine. Schroeder followed suit around the outside, closing right to the back bumper of Czarapata. Schroeder made every move possible but couldn’t find the grip to make the pass. Czarapata scored his first win of the season and a clean sweep to boot. Schroeder had to settle for second at the pay window, Andersen was third. The race went green to checkers. Parker, Czarapata perfect at Outagamie

(Aug. 2) – Although Chase Parker led every lap of the IMCA Modified feature Friday at Outagamie Speedway, the race to the checkers wasn’t easy by any means.  Defending track champion Marcus Yarie worked his way from row four to the runner-up position midway through the contest. With five circuits remaining, Yarie dove inside for the lead but lapped track halted his pursuit and Parker picked up his second win of the season.   Travis Van Straten jumped out as the early leader in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars over Jer­emy Wiitala. The duo ran door-to-door for the top spot until Brandon Czarapata made it three-wide.  Czarapata slipped by down low to take the lead on lap five. The battle for second became lively as Josh Mroczkowski and point leader Eric Arneson began to tussle with Van Straten. Mroczkow­ski secured the runner-up spot with five laps remaining.  Although Mroczkowski closed in late it was Czarapta scoring his second feature win of the sea­son. Yarie, Arneson cash in at Outagamie Speedway

(June 21) – Mark Schuenemann paced the opening laps of the $1,000 to win IMCA Modified feature Friday at Outagamie Speedway before defending track champion Mar­cus Yarie came to call.  Yarie took the lead from Schuenemann and set sail, going unchallenged for his first local feature win of the season and pocketing the $1,000 payday.  Already on the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot, Yarie won the green to checkered contest ahead of Schuenemann, Mike Mullen, Brian Mullen and Jerry Wilinski.   Former national champion Travis Van Straten raced to the lead on lap one of the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car headliner. After starting in row five, Eric Arneson worked to the runner-up position by lap five using the top groove.  Arneson set his sights on Van Straten, pulling even with him on lap eight. A lap later, Arneson took the lead and never looked back, earning his first feature win of the season.  Van Straten stayed close but had to settle for second, Chas Van Ooyen was third, Jeremy Chris­tians took fourth and point leader Josh Mroczkoski rounded out the top five.
