EAGLE, Neb. (June 8, 2024) – His weekly tow from Bates City, Mo., paid off Saturday night with Jack Thomas’ first-ever Eagle Raceway feature win.

The Hurryin’ Missourian topped the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car main event, taking the lead from Shayle Bade with six laps to go and outrunning Bade, Cody Ledger and Brandon Horton following a restart the next go-around.

“We did what we needed to do and got it done tonight,” said Thomas, a winner in his career 20th start in the winged class. “I can’t thank everybody who helps us out enough, my Mom and dad, my crew who did a phenomenal job on the car. To get this win at a place like this is really great! I’m just glad that I got it done.”

Despite drenching rains both Thursday and Friday that would have most racetracks canceling, Roger Hadan and the crack track prep crew gave the racers a great racing surface as Avid Realty and Empire Fence presented Destination Eagle at America’s Home Track.

Other feature winners on the evening were Shawn Harker in the Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds, Kyle Vanover in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, Adam Vrbka in the Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods and Dillon Richards in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks.

Harker’s second win of the season, and career second in the division, came with a flag-to-flag run at the front of the Modified field. Vanover led from last seven to the finish of the Stock Car main despite admittedly missing on his set up, outrunning Chad Andersen to the checkers.

Although he won the track championship last year, Vrbka did it without a single victory and Saturday’s was his first of this season.

“I started in 14th but got through that big pileup on the start and that helped a lot,” he said. “I moved up a few rows from that and then just started picking them off one by one.”

And Richards raced from ninth starting to his fourth Hobby Stock win this season at Eagle, besting Cody Williams in a green, white, checkered finish.
