Buckarma wins Outagamie IMCA Stock Car chase over Parker

SEYMOUR, Wis. (June 14, 2024) – Fantastic weather and a full pit area of 143 cars greeted fans Friday night at Outagamie Speedway.

Action on the track though was hot and heavy as Johnny Whitman, Nick Buckarma, Max Oreskovich and Roland VanDeHei III secured feature wins. Buckarma’s IMCA Sunoco Stock Car win featured a last lap pass to win by .026 seconds over Chase Parker

That feature was as exciting as tin foil in the microwave as Parker fended off a multitude of challengers for the majority of the race. Rod Snellenberger, Devin Snellenberger, Travis Van Straten and Buckarma continually fought right on the back bumper of Parker.

Buckarma found an advantage in the highest groove of the track. On the final lap Buckarma pulled even with Parker and would score the win by an eyelash, .026 seconds, over Parker. Van Straten, Austin Jansen, and Devin Snellenberger would round out the top five. It was the first win this year for Buckarma. 

Cole Slezewski took the lead at the start of the Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMod feature. Oreskovich and Jordan Jahnke soon joined the battle for the lead. Oreskovich used a lap 11 restart to move to the outside of Slezewski and completed the pass for the lead on lap 12.

Jahnke soon passed Slezewski as well to move to second. Jahnke pulled even with Oreskovich on the final lap, but Oreskovich was not to be denied his first win of the year. Jahnke had to settle for second followed by Dustin Smits, Slezewski and Aaron Butterbrodt.  

The Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature proved to be the Johnny Whitman show as he led all 20 laps of the race for his second win of the year. Joel Crowbridge held off Josh Long for second. Konnor Wilinski and Marcus Yarie took fourth and fifth, respectively.  

And the Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compact feature saw VanDeHei go wire to wire for the win. It was not easy, though, as Shaun Bangert and then TJ Everard challenged him through the first half of the race.

In the end it was VanDeHei chased across the finish line by Ben Schulte, Bangert, Everard and Thomas Schulte. The win was VanDeHei’s first of the year.  

Racing will continue next Friday night with extra money on the line in the IMCA Sport Compact division as the winner will take home $500. Pits open at 4 p.m., the grandstands open at 5 p.m. and racing will start at 6:30 p.m.

Late race heroics net LaCrosse Outagamie feature win

By Edward Anschutz  SEYMOUR, Wis. (May 14) – His late-race heroics put Benji LaCrosse in victory lane at Outagamie Speedway Friday night. There were 27 IMCA Modifieds, 33 IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, 37 Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods and 29 Mach-1 Sport Compacts checked in and Wyatt Block Jr. and Marcus Yarie traded the lead early. Yarie was able to work the high side, gaining enough momentum to pull away from Block. Cautions kept the field bunched, allowing Block and LaCrosse each to mount a challenge. LaCrosse set his sights on Yarie with five to go. With Yarie running the top side, LaCrosse began to peek his nose down low under the leader. With one lap remaining, Yarie changed to the low groove as LaCrosse went sailing by up top for the win and a clean sweep of the night. Yarie has to settle for second, Block was third, Justin Ritchie ran fourth and Cody Schroeder completed the top five. Top side leads LaCrosse to Outagamie victory lane

(July 12) – Benji LaCrosse took the top line to victory lane in IMCA Modified action Friday at Outagamie Speedway.  Marcus Yarie had built up a straightaway advantage over Johnny Whitman but a caution on lap nine halted his progress. On the restart, Yarie collected an infield tire sending it onto that track that caused another caution.  Yarie was sent to the tail of the field, handing the lead over to Whitman. With Whitman running the tires LaCrosse worked the top groove and was able to slip by Whitman on lap 12.  LaCrosse put it on cruise control all the way to victory lane with his second feature win of the sea­son. Stock Car checkers at Outagamie give Wilson feature wins in 4 IMCA divisions

SEYMOUR, Wis. (July 28, 2022) – Tyler Wilson achieved two goals with one win on fair night at Outagamie Speedway. Driving for John Heinz, Wilson raced to his career first IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature victory on July 22 at Seymour.  More notably, the checkers gave him one or more wins in a fourth different sanctioned division, an accomplishment of which just a handful of IMCA drivers can boast.  “I was bummed about starting 10th but it was pretty cool to be able to drive through the field and win,” said Wilson, from Little Suamico. “I was pumped. It was a goal of mine to win in all the IMCA divisions we have around here.
