Meyer, Smith, Hanselman all find first 2024 victories at Hancock County

BRITT, Iowa (July 1, 2022) – Long-time flagman and part-time Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compact driver Logan Kelly gave young son Hendrick something different to talk about. Kelly went to the high line after racing his way back to the front of the field at Hancock County Speedway en route to his IMCA career first feature win on July 1. “We were just plain fast and for once in my life I didn’t make any mistakes in the race car. That was the big thing. BRITT, Iowa (Aug. 7) – After checking out his tires, Kollin Hibdon checked out for a $4,000 Saturday afternoon payday at Hancock County Speedway.  Hibdon led all 40 laps of the Night of 10,000 Stars IMCA Modified main event at Britt in the finale for IMCA Speedweek.  “I got a good jump on the start and kept the car straight the first 20 laps to conserve my tires,” said Hibdon, who promptly checker out his Hoosiers during the mandatory pitstop at midway. “After looking at my tires I knew we’d be pretty good. I just made sure to keep the car straight and cruised.”  The young Nevada driver now owns seven Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying victories, six of them coming this season. Mentor Jeff Aikey was promoted to second following the post-race disqualification of Richie Gustin for an illegal battery. Jeremy Mills, Jake Pike and Kelly Shryock completed the top five. BRITT, Iowa (July 24) – There’s something about Hancock County Speedway that brings out the best in Kyle Strickler. Strickler led every lap in winning Tuesday’s Arnold Motor Supply Dirt Knights Tour feature for IMCA Modifieds, earning $2,000 along with a spot on the 2019 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. Hunter Marriott followed his Monday night victory at Park Jefferson Speedway with a runner-up finish. He pressured Strickler throughout the first half of the race and was joined by Ryan Ruter in hot pursuit the last half. Strickler, however, was able to lengthen his lead on the rest of the field before taking the check­ers. The victory was Strickler’s Dirt Knights Tour career third and all have been at Britt. Strickler won the show that doubled as Night of 1,000 Stars in 2013 and the Salute to Veterans Night event in 2015.
