$10,000 to win for IMCA Modifieds at Rocket Raceway Park

PARIS, Texas (Aug. 19, 2024) – Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds make their first visit to Rocket Raceway Park Aug. 29-31, racing for shares of a rich purse to be paid out at the 10th annual Bryan Mize Memorial.

Winner of the Saturday night main event earns $10,000 and Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying eligibility while taking the green flag in the big show pays a minimum of $1,000.

“We know there are a lot of high paying shows out there. We want to put the focus on the guaranteed start money,” said promoter and track owner Kevin Sustaire. “We’re able to do this because a lot of local sponsors have chipped in and helped.”

The runner-up earns $4,000 with $2,500 paid for third, $1,800 for fourth, $1,700 for fifth, $1,600 for sixth, $1,500 for seventh, $1,400 for eighth, $1,300 for ninth, $1,200 for 10th, $1,100 for 11th and $1,000 for 12th through 20th places.

Tow money for the IMCA Modifieds is $100. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, GRT Race Cars South Central Region and Texas State points will be awarded. Registration is now $200; late registration, if paid after today (Monday) is $275.

Pit gates for the Thursday practice open at 4 p.m. – the grandstand will not be open – and pit passes are $25. The drivers’ meeting starts at approximately 7 p.m. with practice running until 9:30 p.m.

Qualifying races are on Friday with last-chance races and the main event Saturday. Pit gates open at 4 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 6 p.m., with hot laps at 7 p.m. and racing to follow each evening.

Pit passes are $40 each night. 

Spectator admission on Friday is $20 for adults, $15 for seniors and military, $10 for kids ages 6-12 and free for ages five and under. Saturday admission is $25 for adults, $20 for seniors and military, $10 for kids and free for five and under.

Mize was the long-time crew chief for Sustaire, a 24-time feature winner and track champion during his own IMCA Modified career.

“We want to catch some of the local drivers and put some money in their pockets before they head north to Super Nationals,” Sustaire said.
