Lee County Speedway opens with March 25, 26 Spring Extravaganza

DONNELLSON, Iowa – Five IMCA divisions will be featured each night of the Friday and Saturday, March 25 and 26 Spring Extravaganza at Lee County Speedway. Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods chase $1,000 top checks while IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks run for $500 to win and Mach-1 Sport Compacts for $300. Modified features are 2016 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifiers. Arkansas Spring Nationals special starts season at Batesville

BATESVILLE, Ark. – Batesville Motor Speedway’s season-opening Arkansas Spring Nationals sports $1,000 to win features for Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds Friday, March 25 and Saturday, March 26. A minimum of $100 will be paid to start the 24-car fields and both features are qualifying events for the 2016 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Jet Racing Central Region, Allstar Performance State and local track points will be awarded. There is no entry fee. Casey’s General Store signs three-year pact to support IMCA Super Nationals, Deery Series

ANKENY, Iowa – Casey’s General Store has signed a new three-year agreement to back both the biggest event in all of dirt track racing and the premier tour for Late Models in the Midwest. The Official Convenience Store of IMCA, Casey’s returns as presenting sponsor for the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals, to be held Sept. 5-10 at Boone Speedway, and as title sponsor for the redraw at all Deery Brothers Summer Series main events. Atchison County’s Tag Team Challenge now April 17

ATCHISON, Kan. – The Tag Team Challenge special, newly-sanctioned Atchison County Raceway’s first event for Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds and IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, will be held Sunday, April 17. ENNIS, Texas (March 17) – Winning the opening night Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modified feature at 85 Speedway will pay a hefty $3,000. The Saturday, March 19 show is the first under the direction of new promoter Scotty Brown and all applicable points, including local track points, will be awarded. The Modified main event is a 2016 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifier. The runner-up earns $1,500 with $750 paid for third. A minimum of $100 will be paid to start the feature. More paperwork needed for minor drivers in IMCA

VINTON, Iowa – Drivers under the age of 18 in all sanctioned divisions are required by IMCA to submit paperwork in addition to their competitor’s application. No exceptions are granted. All drivers ages 14-17 must send a notarized release form, signed by both parents/guardians, and a copy of their birth certificate. There’s also a $50 minor fee, additional to the price of the license, that must be paid when the license is purchased. Release forms are available by contacting IMCA. Drivers 14 and 15 years old are also required to send information about their previous racing experience, if any, and what tracks they will compete at during the upcoming season. RED OAK, Texas – A Texas company already familiar to IMCA drivers around the country is new this season to the sanctioning body’s sponsorship ranks. Dirt Defender of Red Oak joins the national decal program for IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars. 2016 national decal placement program announced for IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars

VINTON, Iowa – The final portion of IMCA’s 2016 national decal program have been announced, with information released for the Stock Car division. Dirt Defender has signed on as part of that program, which also includes EngineQuest – title sponsor for both Northern and Southern regions – Speedway Motors, Intercomp, Holley, MSD, Sunoco and Fast Shafts. “The Stock Car division was the last to be announced because we wanted to confirm a couple of agreements and make sure we got Dirt Defender on board,” IMCA Marketing Director Kevin Yoder said. “Now that we have those solidified we’ll get the decals distributed before the majority of our tracks open weekly.” Drivers must provide proof of decal placement to become eligible for national and regional point fund shares. Car photos can be mailed to Yoder at the IMCA home office or emailed to kyoder@imca.com. Decal packets, which also include applicable contingency sign-up forms, are being mailed beginning this month to drivers who have purchased 2016 licenses.
