Program cut short due to rain, double features next two weeks at Independence
By Ryan Clark INDEPENDENCE, Iowa (June 28) – The skies opened at the end of heat race qualifying as heavy rain cut short the mid-season championship program Saturday night at Independence Motor Speedway. With qualifying completed, the program was declared a complete show. Make-up features for the five divisions will be added to the schedule offering race fans double features during the next two weekly racing programs. Next Saturday, July 5, double features will be run in the Performance Bodies IMCA Modified and IMCA Sunoco Stock Car divisions. The make-up features for the IMCA Late Models, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods will be held Saturday, July 12. Only drivers who were signed in to compete June 28 will be allowed to take part in the make-up features. Buy-ins will not be permitted.
