Night of firsts in Lone Star Tour opener ends with Meier’s first IMCA Stock Car win at HO’T

WACO, Texas (Feb. 20, 2022) – A night of firsts ended with Mitch Meier in victory lane.  Meier led all 25 laps of the opening night main event in the Sniper Speed IMCA Lone Star Stock Car Tour Sunday at Heart O’ Texas Speedway.  The $1,000 victory was Meier’s IMCA Sunoco Stock Car career first and also came in his first start in a new Ultimate Race Car. Damon Murty ran second from lap eight to the finish of the 25-lapper, trying every lane on the track to get past but ultimately settling for runner-up points and pay.  “It was an awesome win. There were a lot of good drivers here tonight and it was pretty cool being able to hold off Damon. He’s one of the best,” said Meier, from Chilton, Wis., and a 141 Speedway regular. “The (distinctly Texan) trophy is probably one of the best I’ll ever get. We got some unique ones at Luxemburg when I was racing a Sport Compact but this one tops ‘em all.” Home state hotshoes Shelby [Read More]

Row six start an advantage for Rogers in IMCA Lone Star Tour victory at Devil’s Bowl

MESQUITE, Texas (Feb. 21, 2022) – He was starting in row six but Jason Rogers knew he had an advantage over the 10 drivers lined up in front of him for Monday’s Sniper Speed IMCA Lone Star Stock Car Tour headliner at Devil’s Bowl Speedway. “Looking at the cars ahead of me, they hadn’t seen how the track had changed,” explained Rogers, who followed his ‘B’ feature win with the $1,000 main event checkers on night two of the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car Tour. “There were a lot of heavy hitters up there but right then I thought I had a shot at it.” Blake Clark was fastest early on, with Jesse Sobbing, G.W. Egbert IV and Jeffrey Abbey running 2-3-4 not far behind.  Rogers raced his way into the top five seven circuits into the 25-lapper. His first charge to the front was erased by a lap 10 caution but he got the lead back for good the next time around. “We brought a brand new Sniper to Texas and it was on a [Read More]

Dallon Murty prevails in IMCA.TV Ice Breaker Prelude

ABILENE, Texas (Feb. 19, 2022) – The setup changes Dallon Murty made following his first night out at Abilene Speedway took him straight to victory lane in his second night on the lightning-quick Texas oval. Murty topped Saturday’s $3,000 to win IMCA.TV Ice Breaker Prelude to the Sniper Speed Lone Star Tour feature, leading the last 17 times around the track in the 20-lapper. “I didn’t know how this Texas trip would go. To end the Ice Breaker with a win, I’ll take it. It’s a good way to start the tour,” the young Iowan said following his second IMCA Sunoco Stock Car checkers of 2022. “Tracks are different here. The dirt is different. To come here and get a win was huge.” Two cautions slowed the early going before Murty beat pole starter Jordan Zillmer to the stripe by a bumper width on lap four.  The laps clicked off in a hurry before Zillmer spun after getting together with Friday winner P.J. Egbert on the 12th circuit. Egbert lined up second on the restart but he had [Read More]

It starts your season off on a good note.” Egbert had started outside the second row and was still in fourth, behind Caleb Stone, Jason Rogers and Matt Guillaume, when that early caution came out.  “When we took off on the restart, the second and third place cars went to the middle to the top of the track, the leader kind of missed the bottom and [Read More]

IMCA.TV broadcast, replay bonuses paid to drivers at 39 weekly tracks

VINTON, Iowa – A one-of-its-kind bonus program introduced by IMCA.TV paid off for nearly 400 IMCA drivers in its first season. Checks totaling nearly $28,000 were mailed to the drivers finishing in top three point standings in 2021, in divisions with point funds at 39 tracks where weekly race programs were broadcast and replayed on IMCA.TV or its affiliates. Payments were based on broadcast revenue for each event, with royalties paid to each driver determined by the time of viewership, measured down to the number of seconds watched, each night at each track. “This is a unique program,” noted IMCA President Brett Root, “No other sanctioning body or pay per view broadcaster have a bonus program like this that pays royalties to drivers based on viewership.”  “This is the most accurate way dirt track racers, who already receive purse money and point fund shares, are being paid for streaming,” he continued. “It’s a really good system. The more people watch, the more we pay the racers and they deserve it. They’re the show.” Tracks where [Read More]
