Deery Series headlines Fayette County Fair show

WEST UNION, Iowa (July 20) – The longest running tour for Late Models in the Midwest makes a much-anticipated return to West Union and Fayette County Speedway on Wednesday, July 25. The Deery Brothers Summer Series comes to town with IMCA Late Models racing for $2,000 to win and a minimum of $300 to start. “It’s been more than nine years (June 17 of 2009) since the series traveled to West Union and this has been one of the dates a lot of the Deery drivers have been talking about since we announced the schedule in February,” acknowledged Tour Director Kevin Yoder. “I’m confident the Fayette County Fair event will be one of the best of the season.” IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National and Iowa State, as well as special series points, will be awarded. Dominator Race Products marks decade as IMCA sponsor with awards in six divisions

LYONS, Ohio – Dominator Race Products gives awards to drivers in six IMCA divisions this season, its 10th as a sponsor for the sanctioning body. The Lyons, Ohio, manufacturer gives product certificate awards for the first time, with $100 going to ninth and 10th place finishers in each of the five regions for IMCA Modifieds and to sixth through 15th place finishing drivers in point standings for the Deery Brothers Summer Series for IMCA Late Models. First round of voting starts Monday for Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational

BOONE, Iowa – The first round of voting for the upcoming Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational begins at noon on Monday, July 23. Three drivers from each of the five regions for IMCA Modifieds will be elected in polling conducted between July 23 and 26; another 13 advance from an at-large pool of the next 25 top vote recipients between July 30 and Aug. 2. Covert Memorial is Saturday at Thunder Hill

MAYETTA, Kan. – A top prize of $1,700 and a Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot berth are at stake Saturday for IMCA Modifieds Thunder Hill Speedway. The 17th annual Oren Covert Memorial Race headlines the July 21 program with the BSB Manufacturing Modified winner also receiving the traditional toolbox trophy. All registered drivers taking a green flag in the heat or feature will receive an additional $8 at payout. This extra money makes the driver’s pit pass for the event $17. Full house greets Deery Series at CJ Speedway as Holladay motors to IMCA Late Model tour win

COLUMBUS JUNCTION, Iowa (July 18) – A very full house was on hand to welcome the Deery Brothers Summer Series back to CJ Speedway Wednesday night. Chad Holladay led all 40 laps of the main event for touring IMCA Late Models, outrunning Denny Eckrich and Darrel DeFrance for his career second Deery win and $2,000. Ryan Dolan and Nick Marolf rounded out the top five in the first series event held at Columbus Junction since 1996. “There were a couple cautions that worked in my favor and took out lapped traffic at halfway and again with five to go,” said Holladay. “You always want clean air ahead of you and we had a very good car tonight.” Holladay’s night began inauspiciously, as he drew the last starting spot in his heat. FRANCIS CREEK, Wis. (July 18) – A less than favorable forecast for this weekend has resulted in rescheduling of 141 Speedway’s $5,000 to win King of the Creek IMCA Sunoco Stock Car special. King of the Creek moves to Tuesday, July 31-Thursday, Aug. 2. Practice is on opening night with Stock Car qualifying and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod and Mach-1 Sport Compact features on the docket for Wednesday. No track points will be given to SportMod and Sport Compact drivers. Thursday’s program features last-chance qualifying and the main event for Stock Cars, plus all other divisions running their regular formats. DAVENPORT, Iowa – Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods race for $750 to win their Mississippi Valley Fair show next Tuesday, July 24 at Davenport Speedway. A minimum of $75 will be paid to start and there is no entry fee for the draw/redraw show, held in conjunction with the World of Outlaws Late Models. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National and Iowa State, but no track points will be awarded. General admission is $25 and box seats are $30.
