Heavy rain Friday evening lasting into Saturday morning was all that was needed to call off action at the quick 3/8-mile dirt oval. Bittner bests IMCA Stock Car field at Off Road

(June 9) – After 10 years and much success racing an IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock, Tiffany Bittner is competing in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car division for a second season and starting to find similar success. Last year Bittner won one feature while finishing with “a ton of top five finishes” in a division she describes as “a very popular class right now … I feel like everybody is moving up to the Stock Cars.” On Saturday night at Off Road Speedway, Bittner won her first feature of the young 2018 season. Avoiding much of the early race chaos, Bittner remained positioned among the six cars competing for the lead. Yarie, Raddant return to Shawano winner’s circle

(June 9) – Marcus Yarie and Kyle Raddant made return trips to the winner’s circle at Shawano Speedway following IMCA Modified and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod main events, respectively. Chucky Forstner and Jerry Muenster battled for the lead on the opening lap of the Modified main. Forstner held the lead until lap 10 when rookie Brekken Kleinschmidt took to the outside of the track and grabbed the front spot. Yarie followed Kleinschmidt around Forstner into second, then powered his way past Kleinschmidt for the lead on the following lap. Wyatt Block soon passed Kleinschmidt to grab second. In the end it was Yarie for the win, chased by Block, Kleinschmidt, Lance Arneson, and Jerry Wilinski. Kaden Besaw led the opening lap of the Northern SportMod feature before giving way to Raddant, who then took to the high line of the track and looked to ride off into the sunset. Miller’s dominance continues at Stuart

By Josh Reynolds STUART, Iowa (June 8) – Curtis Miller won his fourth Mach-1 Sport Compact outing in as many outings Friday at Stuart Speedway. Hunter Patrick led Miller and Dean Richards in the early going with Miller taking the lead on lap four. Ryan Brown went for a wild tumble in turn two, landing just outside of the concrete barriers. Brown was OK but his night was over. Once the cars came back alive it was Miller cruising to the win with Richards second, Patrick third, Eric Alexander fourth and Zak Sickles fifth. Brandon Pruitt continued his own streak, winning a third consecutive IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature at Stuart. Nick Roberts was scored first across the stripe every circuit in winning the IMCA Modified feature. Up to Challenge, Berry wins Ironman at Dacotah

MANDAN, N.D. (June 8) – Tom Berry Jr.’s first win in three career IMCA Modified visits to Mandan was good for $800 at Dacotah Speedway’s 40/40 Ironman Challenge Friday night. Pole sitter Darrell Parsons, Travis Ulmer and Tim Perkins went three-wide into the first set of turns. Ulmer shuffled into the lead as John Corell passed Parsons for third. An early caution allowed Berry to slip by Corell and Parsons before another yellow regrouped the field. On the restart, Ulmer, Perkins and Berry went three wide for the lead. Contact among the leaders bumped Perkins out of the top five as Berry grabbed the front spot. As the laps wound down, Ulmer lost positions to Corell, Shawn Strand and Jeremy Keller. While Berry pulled away, Strand started to close in on Corell. Strand had the fastest car on track, passed Corell and was closing in on Berry, who was maneuvering around slower cars. Reutzel, Monson win again at Kossuth County

By Greg Grabianowski ALGONA, Iowa (June 7) – Tad Reutzel and Oliver Monson both made return trips to victory lane at Kossuth County Speedway Thursday night, Reutzel outran Kelly Shryock and Mat Hollerich for his second IMCA Modified win this season at Algona. Monson’s third local Mach-1 Sport Compact checkers of 2018 came ahead of Jacob Tacheny and Taylor Kuper. Collecting their first wins of the year at Kossuth County were Kevin Opheim in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, Josh Meyer in the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods and Doug Wickman in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks.

IMCA Modified drivers chase awards from Winters

YORK, Pa. – Top drivers in the IMCA Modified division earn awards from Winters Performance Products for a fourth consecutive season. The York, Pa., manufacturer gives a complete quick change rear end to the national rookie of the year while champions in each of the five regions receive $100 product certificates. Those awards will be presented during the national banquet in November or mailed beginning the following week from the IMCA home office. VINTON, Iowa (June 10) – Richie Gustin and Tony Olson took home the top checks from Benton County Speedway’s Iowa Donor Network Urbana 5 Memorial Sunday night. Already on the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot, Gustin started third in the IMCA Modified 20-lapper and took the lead from Brennen Chipp with just a few circuits scored. Gustin pulled away before the seventh starting Troy Cordes found the fastest line and began making up ground. Cordes closed on Gustin and nearly drew even until a late caution. Gustin then pulled away for the $1,000 victory while Dripps worked past Cordes for second. Also the winner of 2015 and 2016 IDN/Urbana 5 Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod features, Olson started third row and raced the low side to the front early on. CAMARILLO, Calif. – Five of the national champions crowned in 2018 earn contingency awards from Wilwood Engineering. Top drivers in national standings for the IMCA Modified, IMCA Sunoco Stock Car, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod and Smiley’s Racing Products Southern SportMod divisions receive front brake rotors from the Camarillo, Calif., manufacturer. Beckman is best in Eagle Hobby Stock main

(June 9) – Nick Beckman grabbed the lead on lap two and held off all challengers in winning Saturday’s Valentino’s IMCA Hobby Stock feature at Eagle Raceway. “I’d say it’s been four years since I’ve been on the front stretch here. It feels really good to be back in a Hobby Stock,” he said. “I knew I had to get out front and run away. I’m just glad that I was able to hold off all of the fast drivers.” Scott Bivens got the lead on the 11th circuit in winning the Hoosier Racing Tire IMCA Northern SportMod main.
