Mohave Valley celebrates 25th with IMCA Modified special

MOHAVE VALLEY, Ariz. – Mohave Valley Raceway celebrates its 25th anniversary on Saturday, April 14 with a $1,500 to win IMCA Modified special. The main event pays a minimum of $100 to start and the entry fee of $100 includes car and driver. Total purse for the feature is $6,000. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Larry Shaw Race Cars Western Region and Arizona State, but no track points will be awarded. Deery Brothers Summer Series opens Friday with Rebel 5K at Davenport

DAVENPORT, Iowa – The longest running Late Model Series in the Midwest is back in action and a top prize of $5,000 is on the line when Davenport Speedway hosts opening night for the Deery Brothers Summer Series this Friday, April 13. The Rebel 5K is the first of 13 dates for the 32nd annual IMCA Late Model tour and pays a minimum of $300 to start. Along with the big check, the winner goes home with the top spot in national, state and special series standings. Long tow to I-37 pays off for Andersen

Hallas PLEASANTON, Texas (April 7) – It wasn’t the trip he had planned, but Chad Andersen of Fort Calhoun, Neb., made the 13-hour drive pay off with a win in the IMCA Modified feature Saturday at I-37 Speedway. Starting toward the back with no point average, Andersen hung out letting the field sort itself, then began his march to the front. Andersen caught Rick Green, Jamie Campbell and Dillon Tindall near halfway making a four-car fight for the lead. Andersen grabbed the point on lap 13, then survived a couple late restarts to pick up the victory. “The win made the long trip worth it. OSBORN, Mo. – IMCA Modifieds race for $1,200 to win, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods for $500 to win at US 36 Raceway’s Saturday, April 14 Modified Shootout. The Modified feature is a qualifying event for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot and pays a minimum of $150 to start. Performance Engineering & Manufacturing adds special events awards to IMCA program

SAINT CLAIR, Mo. – More IMCA drivers will earn Performance Engineering & Manufacturing product awards this season. The Saint Clair, Mo., manufacturer and seven-year sponsor gives a set of quick change gears to the winners of 30 designated specials for IMCA Modifieds. PEM had given those awards to 10 special events winners last season. Dismal weather conditions stop Dodge City again

(April 6) – For the second weekend in a row, unfavorable weather conditions have forced the postponement of the season opening event atop the 3/8-mile Dodge City Raceway Park clay oval in southwest Kansas. Expected record low temperatures and a wintry mix on Friday night and then “Real-Feel” temperatures approaching single digits on Saturday night have forced the cancellation of Saturday night’s card that was to include a full slate of DCRP Sprint Cars, IMCA Modifieds, IMCA SportMods, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks. The state-of-the-art facility will now kick off the season on Saturday night, April 21, with the sixth annual Modified Stampede. Woodward, Oklahoma’s Cole Traugott raced to his second consecutive Modified Stampede victory last season with other past winners including David Murray Jr. and Brendon Gemmill. The April 21 event featuring the IMCA Modifieds will also include the Precise Racing Products DCRP Sprint Cars, IMCA SportMods, Stock Cars and Hobby Stocks, with racing going green at 7:30 p.m.

Virginia Sprint Series opener is postponed

SHENANDOAH, Va. – Saturday’s scheduled opening night event for the Virginia Sprint Series at Shenandoah Speedway has been postponed due to a 100 percent chance of snow and freezing temperatures. The IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car Series now opens Saturday, April 14 at Natural Bridge Speedway.

Kay, Marriott collect LaSalle Thaw Brawl IMCA Modified checkers

LaSALLE, Ill. (March 30-31) – Justin Kay continued his LaSalle Speedway success on opening night while Hunter Marriott raced to yet another IMCA Modified special event win on night two of the Thaw Brawl. Kay had swept One Night Stand Late Model and Modified mains at LaSalle two years ago, then topped the Late Model feature there last August. He turned back the clock to an old setup and pocketed $1,000 for taking the Friday night Modified checkers. Marriott made his first-ever visit to LaSalle and followed his opening night third-place run with the $1,200 Saturday victory, his 10th – in four different states – so far in 2018.
