Performance Bodies, Five Star Bodies continue award option for Modified and SportMod drivers

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – Performance Bodies and Five Star Bodies will continue an award option for IMCA Modified, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod and Scoggin-Dickery Parts Center Southern SportMod drivers. Each of the five Modified regional champions and rookies of the year, and both Northern and Southern SportMod national champions and the rookies of the year receive MD3 Modified nosepieces or MD3 Modified valance and rocker panel kits. The award option was added to the Performance Bodies/Five Star Bodies program last season. Certificates will be presented during the national awards banquet or mailed beginning the following week from the IMCA home office. Highway 20 Triple Crown next for Deery Series

VINTON, Iowa – After two weekend rainouts, a Highway 20 Triple Crown is in the works April 21-23 for the Deery Brothers Summer Series. Touring IMCA Late Models make up rained-out shows on Friday, April 21 at Farley Speedway and Saturday, April 22 at Independence Motor Speedway, then travel to Dubuque Speedway for the scheduled Sunday, April 23 event. All three main events pay $2,000 to win and a minimum of $300 to start. Highway 20 Triple Crown bonus amounts, as well as information about other IMCA divisions running each night, are to be announced.

IMCA Stock Car, SportMod drivers chase contingency awards from Mitchell Machine

WEBSTER CITY, Iowa – Mitchell Machine has renewed contingency awards for drivers in three divisions, in its 11th season as an IMCA sponsor. Regional standings for IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and national standings for Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods and Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center Southern SportMods determine recipients of product certificates given by the Webster City, Iowa, transmission manufacturer and machine shop. Atomic track champion will be first crowned in Ohio by IMCA RaceSaver

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio – IMCA will crown its first-ever RaceSaver Sprint Car track champion as well as a series champion in Ohio this season. Atomic Speedway hosted the first of nine events on April 9; points races there April 22, May 20, June 24, July 22 and Aug. 5, 25 and 26, and Sept. 23 also figure toward determining that first champion. The June 24 event is during Ohio Sprint Speedweek and will be broadcast on the internet. The Aug. 26 Open Wheel Championship feature pays $600 to win. DUNDEE, N.Y. – Outlaw Speedway’s Spring Nationals sports a $1,200 IMCA Modified main event and a couple opportunities for drivers to pick up some extra cash on opening night. The Friday, April 21 headliner is a Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifier and IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Dirt Works Eastern Region, Allstar Performance State and track points will be awarded. Willamette Speedway ready for April 15 season opener

QA1 unveils new awards for six IMCA divisions

LAKEVILLE, Minn. – QA1 unveils a new slate of awards in 2017, its 19th season as an IMCA sponsor. The Lakeville, Minn., high performance parts manufacturer gives product certificates to three drivers in each of the IMCA Modified, IMCA Late Model, IMCA Sunoco Stock Car, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod, Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center Southern SportMod and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock divisions. Next event for Sprint Series of Oklahoma nears

By David Smith, Jr. OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – Don’t forget it is a special Friday night edition of Sprint Series of Oklahoma presented by Smiley’s Racing Products action coming up on Friday, April 21 as the series makes its second straight appearance at Southern Oklahoma Speedway in Ardmore. Once again, the event will be co-sanctioned with the Sprint Series of Texas. The tour opened its second season at the Southern Oklahoma speedplant back on March 25 and that night saw Wichita Falls, Texas driver Chad Koch pick up his first-ever SSO feature victory, over a strong field of 31 IMCA RaceSaver Sprinters.
