See saw win by inches in IMCA Stock Car thriller at CJ Speedway

By Jerry Mackey COLUMBUS JUNCTION, Iowa (June 23) – Another beautiful Friday night greeted a great crowd as the racing action was very exciting at the CJ Speedway. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars continue to provide great racing each and every Friday night. The main event took the green with Kenny O’Donnell taking the lead and looking to break a recent string of bad luck at his hometown race track. O’Donnell stretched the lead out early in the race and appeared to be on his way to the win only to have Jason See make a late-race charge to the front. See went to the outside of O’Donnell as the two came off of turn four headed to the checkered flag. At the finish line, See took the win by no more than 12 inches over O’Donnell, who led all but the last few feet in the 16-lap feature. Norman Bean ran with the leaders the entire race and settled for a close third ahead of Dustin Griffiths.  Jarrett Brown has had a great year at [Read More]

Stocker joins parade of first-time winners at Arlington

ARLINGTON, Minn. (June 24, 2023) – An hour-long rain delay and more new drivers in victory lane made for an interesting race night at the Arlington Raceway on Saturday. The Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compact feature saw Eric Stocker win his first feature ever as he led from start to finish to win the event, and just in time as he will be recuperating from shoulder surgery this week and will be unable to race. Justin Dose took second. In the Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMod feature, Charlie Rustman led the first 10 laps until Jeff Carter was able to get around him on the backstretch. The two raced side by side until Carter pulled away and won his first feature of the season. Rustman was the runner-up. He then went on to capture his third win of the season at Algona as the race went green, white, checkered. Smith crossed the finish line in second place as Landheer was third. Cody Knecht led the first three laps before Jeremy Mills took over the lead and went onto his second local Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature win of the season. Garnhart wins nailbiter at Maquoketa before rain arrives

By Jerry Mackey MAQUOKETA, Iowa (June 24, 2023) – Amhof Trucking of Eldridge hosted on-track action Saturday night at Maquoketa Speedway. The racing took place under the threat of an approaching storm so the program was moved along as quickly as possible.  The IMCA Sunoco Late Models once again provided fans with a thrilling finish. As the winds began to whip around the fairgrounds, the Late Models were battling for position all the way through their 16-car field.  Race leader Dalton Simonsen took the white flag with what appeared to be a good enough lead that would allow him to score the win. Bryce Garnhart, however, had different ideas as he took his number 3 ride to the inside of Simonsen as the two raced down the back chute, setting up a charge to the finish off turn four which would net a feature win for Garnhart by less than two feet. Following Simonsen across the finish line were CJ Horn and early leader Scott Olson, who took fourth.  The Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods [Read More]

Ryan Grochow was the early leader as he held off Eckblad the first four laps before Eckblad got under him and took the lead. Soon, Eckblad had the company of Larsen as the two raced side-by-side for several laps. Each time they came to the finish line, Larsen was in front of Eckblad and was leading [Read More]
