Waldvogel, Czarapata wire fields at Outagamie

(June 23, 2023) – Dylan Waldvogel started on the pole of the Friesen Performance IMCA Northern Sport Mod feature and never looked back in racing to the checkers Friday at Outagamie Speedway. Cory Kemkes challenged Waldvogel several times but could never find a way around. Waldvogel led all 20 laps for his first win of the year. He was followed to the checkers by Kemkes, Chris Kuchta, Jordan Jahnke and Ryan Schmidt. Dan Michonski snagged the lead on lap one of the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature but it was Brett Wenzel taking to the outside of the track to grab the lead on lap two. The only real challenge to Wenzel came on restarts as Chucky Forstner hung with Wenzel at times. In the end it was Wenzel fending off the field for the win. Fast Shafts All-Star eligible list adds 16

VINTON, Iowa (June 23, 2023) – Another 16 Friesen Performance IMCA Modified drivers have proven their on-track mettle in becoming eligible to qualify for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational. Johnny Whitman was a hit at 141 Speedway’s Clash at the Creek. Jeremy Frenier was first at Lincoln County Raceway’s Fred Beardsley Memorial. Jeremy Keller prevailed in the automotive racing marathon that is Dacotah Speedway’s Iron Man and Travis Tooley topped Jamestown’s fourth annual Don Gumke Memorial. Rulers of Royal Rumble features were Logan Dinsmore and Ryan Doyon. Wild West Speedweek checkers have flown for Grey Ferrando and Bricen James. Izac Mallicoat’s first feature win in the division paid $1,000 and came during Hancock County Speedway’s big SportMod Nationals show. Jerry King was a Monday Night Madness winner at Independence. Gilman scores after fast start at Stuart

By Josh Reynolds STUART, Iowa (June 21, 2023) – Multi-time and defending track champion Josh Gllman was the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified driver no one could catch Wednesday at Karl Chevrolet of Stuart International Speedway. Gilman led Drew Janssen and Martin Bennett over the first half of the race. Bennett faded as Canadian driver Isaiah Geisel got to third with five laps to go but there was no touching Gilman as he sailed to the 3.5 second win. Janssen finished second with Geisel third. The IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars saw Jeff Mueller use his front row start to rocket out to the lead. Buck Schafroth gave chase for the entire 20 laps but there was no catching Mueller on this night as he cruised to the feature win. Schafroth finished second with third going to Miciah Hidlebaugh. July 1 deadline for IMCA rookie of the year applications

VINTON, Iowa (June 21, 2023) – Eligible drivers who have not already done so have until 4:30 p.m. CST Saturday, July 1 to run for rookie of the year. IMCA names national Modified, Late Model, Sprint Car, Stock Car, Hobby Stock, Mod Lite, Northern and Southern SportMod, and Sport Compact rookies of the year and regional Modified, Stock Car and Hobby Stock rookies of the year. Drivers who have not raced 10 or more times in their respective divisions and meet all other eligibility requirements who did not indicate rookie status when filling out their 2023 IMCA license application can call the home office at 310 472-2201 extension 215 or email Director of Points and Membership Virginia Lindsey at vlindsey@imca.com. Speedway Motors is among the IMCA sponsors giving awards to rookie competitors again this season, presenting $100 gift cards to those drivers following career-first feature wins. IMCA Modifieds provide on-track fireworks at Electric City’s Fastest in the Falls shows

GREAT FALLS, Mont. (June 20, 2023) – The best fireworks around will follow Electric City Speedway’s third annual Fastest in the Falls special. Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds run for $2,000 to win and Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying eligibility Monday, July 3 and Tuesday, July 4 at Great Falls. Additional purse money has been added for second through fifth place finishers and a minimum of $100 will be paid to start each night. All registration for the draw/redraw show is online at MyRacePass. Entry fee is $50 a night and pit passes are $30. Passing points will be awarded for heats. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Shaw Race Cars Western Region, Montana State and track points will be given each night. Arlington IMCA Stock Car checkers are first for Eckblad

ARLINGTON, Minn. (June 17, 2023) – Another first-time IMCA Sunoco Stock Car winner made his way to victory lane at Arlington Raceway Saturday night. Duffy tops thriller, Mohr wins first at Maquoketa

Beautiful weather and a very fast tacky track provided for an action-packed night of stock car racing. The headliner of the night featured the return of the IMCA Sunoco Late Models and a field of 16 cars took the green flag for a 25-lap feature that went flag to flag. Logan Duffy took the lead from pole sitter Brandon Loos and went on to build a comfortable advantage. As the laps wound down, the lead pack swelled to three as Bryce Garnhart and Dalton Simonsen joined Duffy. Both Simonsen and Garnhart were scored as leaders late in the race. First Stock Car checkers fly for last starting Anderson

By Greg Soukup EAGLE, Neb. (June 17, 2023) – John Anderson changed directions and changed his Saturday night status from rained out to first-time IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature winner. En route to Shelby County Speedway before that show was lost to wet weather, the Omaha speedster went back to his shop, changed gear and got to Eagle Raceway in time to start at the back of the 18-car main event field. In fourth by lap 10, he made a huge move with seven circuits to go, vaulting all of the way up to second. Dinsmore rumbles in Royal finale at I-37

By JM Hallas PLEASANTON, Texas (June 17, 2023) – Saturday was the time to crown the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified Royal Rumble mini-series, sponsored by Sundowner Performance Diesel, champion at I-37 Speedway. There had been three different winners in the previous three races, Dillon Tindall, Chris Morris and Ryan Doyon, with Tindall and Tanner Whitmire tied for the lead going into the finale, Logan Dinsmore three points out and Doyon rounding out the top. The race sailed by, going green to checkers on the blackened off track. Dinsmore drew the pole and took advantage of the starting spot, jumping out front as three-wide for second sorted out to Whitmire, Tindall and Doyon with Landon Bednarz fifth. Johnny Torres, in a borrowed ride, moved past Bednarz for fifth, then Doyon for fourth. Coming to halfway it was Dinsmore maintaining his advantage over Whitmire, Tindall, Torres and Doyon.
