McBirnie McMasters IMCA Modifieds at MoTown

By Joyce Eisele MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (June 16, 2023) – Jake McBirnie pocketed $1,000 for his Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature win on Friday, Midwest Liquid Systems Night at the Karl Auto Group Marshalltown Speedway. McBirnie started on the outside front row in the 20-lap Night after the Creek main event and leaped to the immediate lead when the race went green. He would go on to lead every lap on his way to the checkers to capture his first win at the speedway this season along with qualifying eligibility for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational. Joel Rust and Maguire DeJong had a good battle going on behind McBirnie, with Rust winning out for second and DeJong taking third. Tripp Gaylord started 14th and finished fourth, and Paul Nagle completed the top five. Bartz, Arneson back in Outagamie’s victory lane

By Edward Anschutz SEYMOUR, Wis. (June 16, 2023) – Jordan Bartz and Eric Arneson both raced their way to the winner’s circle Friday at Outagamie Speedway. Fresh off a heat race win, Chris Pigeon paced the opening laps of the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature. Pigeon ran the cushion as Bartz went to work down low. Bartz made the pass for the top spot on lap four and never looked back, cruising to her first feature win of the season and a clean sweep on the night. Lucas Lamberies rallied late to place second, last week’s winner Cole Czarneski took third and Jason Ebert rounded out the top four. Ken Schrader moved up seven spots in the feature to place 12th. Horejsi cashes in at Kossuth County

IMCA Stock Car win at US 36 is first for Smith

By Rick Staley OSBORN, Mo. (June 16, 2023) – The IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature at US 36 Raceway saw side-by-side racing and a first-time visitor to victory lane Friday night. Carson Masoner took the early lead and pulled away from the field with Brad Derry, Matthew Lance and Nate Barnes nipping at his heels. He continued to lead until Randy Smith Jr. found the fast line around the track and took over at the front. Smith, who has won in about everything except an IMCA Stock Car, did not look back nor was he denied in picking up his first-ever feature win in The Class Too Tough To Tame at US 36 Raceway. Lance placed a very close second with Barnes crossing in third. The Stealth Racing IMCA STARS Mod Lite feature ended with Dillon Raffurty back in victory lane.

Co-sanctioned Hagerstown show next for PASS

(June 15, 2023) – The River Valley Builders Pennsylvania Sprint Series will make its only 2023 appearance at Maryland’s Hagerstown Speedway this Saturday, joining a co-sanctioned program hosted by the Virginia Sprint Series and also involving the Laurel Highlands Sprint Series. It’s a Dad’s Night Out special program for Father’s Day weekend, with the IMC RaceSaver Sprint Cars racing, along with the wingless super sportsman cars that normally run at Path Valley Speedway, and the track’s regular late model sportsman division. PASS has only run in seven races at Hagerstown (although some teams have run more when VSS was racing there without the PASS co-sanction) and no driver has won more than once, which creates an opportunity for those drivers with single wins who plan on racing: Ken Duke, Jerald Harris, a VSS regular, Stevie Kenawell and Mike Melair. IMCA Modifieds race for $5,000 at Gallatin’s Modtana Madness special

BELGRADE, Mont. (June 15, 2023) – Big money is at stake for Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds in Big Sky Country. Gallatin Speedway’s first annual Modtana Madness presented by NAPA Auto Parts is slated Friday, June 30-Saturday, July 1 and boasts a $5,000 top prize. While the winner gets the biggest check and becomes eligible to qualify for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational, the runner-up takes home $3,000 and third place pays $2,000. Drivers finishing in the top 10 bank at least $1,000 and making the main event pays $400. ALBION, Neb. (June 14, 2023) – The Class Too Tough to Tame returns to Boone County Raceway July 9 for the Tanner Pelster Memorial, and the driver who can tame the Sunday night IMCA Sunoco Stock Car main event will take home $5,111. A guaranteed starting spot in the upcoming B & B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational is at stake as well at the third annual special, sponsored by Sudbeck Underground Inc., Nebraska Owners Insurance and 94 Rock. Trebelhorn triumphs at Arlington

ARLINGTON, Minn. (June 10, 2023) – The wins are what you race for and Luke Trebelhorn raced to his IMCA Sunoco Stock Car first Saturday at Arlington Raceway. The second-year Stock Car driver started third, passed Mark Zimmerman on the seventh circuit and sailed to the checkers from that point, topping the 20-lapper in front of Dave Moriarty and Matthew Looft. “This is a tough class but that’s what makes it fun,” said Trebelhorn, who had a heat win and a couple top 10 finishes as a rookie last season.
