Doyon delivers with I-37 First Responders Night IMCA win

By J.M. Hallas PLEASANTON, Texas (Sept. 23, 2023) – Ahhhh, fall begins, so it’s only in the 90’s instead of over 100. Saturday’s Friesen Performance IMCA Modified field took the green for Saturday’s Frist Responders Night show at I-37 Speedway with Jared Maupin getting the point pursued by Ryan Doyon, Robert Liese, Greg Dinsmore and Logan Dinsmore. Doyon pressured Maupin for the lead in turns three and four getting the spot on lap four while Greg Dinsmore got third from Liese. Logan Dinsmore followed a lap later to fourth. Coming to the midway point, Greg Dinsmore got by Maupin for second and inched closer and got a good run in after Doyon got caught by traffic. Darrell Boyd and Liese ran side-by-side for fifth until a caution that set up a four-lap shootout. Doyon got off good back under green while Maupin and Logan Dinsmore were side by side for third. Doyon had three car lengths on Greg Dinsmore when taking the checkers. “I was wondering where Greg (Dinsmore) was. I’m not going to say [Read More]

Tire Demon auction and matching funds go to research, cure of rare genetic disorder DLG4

BOONE, Iowa (Sept. 21, 2023) – Money raised in the auction before the auction on the final night of the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s goes to a cause close to the heart of Modified champion Tim Ward. The Tire Demon variable speed tire machine he received as part of the champion’s awards sold for $2,800 in bidding that preceded the traditional Super Nationals-ending engine auction. Tire Demon owner Tim Love matched that amount and Ward chose to donate the total of $5,600 raised to the Hope For Harvey Foundation, to help fund research toward a cure for DLG4, a rare genetic disorder that impairs development in some 60 known case in the United States. One of those 60 is the namesake of the foundation and three-year-old cousin of Ward’s girlfriend Kenze Smith. “DLG4 is the specific gene that impacts how his body produces a protein and effects his body and development skills,” she explains. “Funds raised in the auction at Super Nationals go toward research to improve quality of life.” “Tire [Read More]

Foulger, DeCarlo, win Hall Of Fame Night features at Antioch

By Candice Martin  ANTIOCH, Calif. (Sept. 15, 2023) – Troy Foulger won the 25-lap Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature Friday night at Antioch Speedway. Foulger pressured Pearce during the first half of the race with Slaney a solid third until he headed pit side on the 14th lap. Foulger made a move around Pearce on the backstretch on lap 17 to briefly gain the lead, but Pearce beat him back to the line to lead that lap.  However, Foulger made a high pass in turn two on the 18th lap to take command.
