2023 Prelude to the Super Nationals

Registration opens July 1 for IMCA Super Nationals

BOONE, Iowa (June 30, 2023) – IMCA drivers can begin making their reservations for the biggest event in all of dirt track racing on July 1. Registration opens Saturday for the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s at Boone Speedway Sept. 4-9. Modified, Stock Car, Hobby Stock, Northern SportMod, Sport Compact, Late Model and Mod Lite drivers must register online. (June 29, 2023) – IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car drivers from across the country are already replying to the invitation to Sprint on in to Nebraska’s Racing Vacation Destination Aug. 31-Sept. 3. Eagle Raceway rolls out the red carpet for the RaceSaver Nationals over the Labor Day Weekend, concluding the 11th annual special with a main event that pays a guaranteed $3,000 to win and a minimum of $1,500 to start. INDEPENDENCE, Iowa (June 29, 2023) – Another $250 Sunoco Race Fuels bonus will be awarded when IMCA Sunoco Late Models headline the Denny Osborn Memorial Wednesday, July 5 at Independence Motor Speedway. Knutson pockets $500 on RFB Electric Night at the Races.

By Joyce Eisele MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (June 23, 2023) – Eric Knutson was electrifying on RBF Electric Night at the Races Friday at the Karl Auto Group Marshalltown Speedway. Knutson went home $500 richer after winning the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock feature, starting 11th, taking the lead before midway and never looking back the rest of the 20-lapper. Woodworth tops Drive for 5, Profeta wins career first feature at Lee County

By Brian Neal DONNELLSON, Iowa (June 23, 2023) –  Dennis Woodworth won the headline race and Nicholas Profeta won for the first time Friday at Lee County Speedway. The 25-lap Iowa Corn Growers Association Drive For 5 IMCA Sunoco Late Model feature took the green flag with Woodworth and Nick Marolf on the front row. Woodworth edged Marolf to lead lap one over Tommy Elston. While Woodworth worked the bottom of the track, Marolf work the top and used the momentum off the top of turn four to edge ahead on Woodworth on lap four. Marolf pulled away from Woodworth before encountering lapped traffic on lap 12. This allowed Woodworth to close back in. Woodworth used lapped traffic to slip back by Marolf for the top spot on lap 16, only to have Marolf get the lead back on the next lap. See saw win by inches in IMCA Stock Car thriller at CJ Speedway 

By Jerry Mackey COLUMBUS JUNCTION, Iowa (June 23) – Another beautiful Friday night greeted a great crowd as the racing action was very exciting at the CJ Speedway. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars continue to provide great racing each and every Friday night. The main event took the green with Kenny O’Donnell taking the lead and looking to break a recent string of bad luck at his hometown race track. O’Donnell stretched the lead out early in the race and appeared to be on his way to the win only to have Jason See make a late-race charge to the front. See went to the outside of O’Donnell as the two came off of turn four headed to the checkered flag. At the finish line, See took the win by no more than 12 inches over O’Donnell, who led all but the last few feet in the 16-lap feature. Furrell is IMCA Mod Lite star at US 36

By Rick Staley OSBORN, Mo. (June 23, 2023) – Tyler Furrell was the Friday night star at US 36 Raceway, recording his career first Stealth Racing IMCA STARS Mod Lite feature win. Furrell and James Beebe got out front at the drop of the green. Justin Raffurty challenged the front pair but neither were shaken and continued to battle up front as the always fast Dillon Raffurty made his march forward. As the laps wound down, Furrell continued to hold off all challengers and picked up his first-ever feature win with two-time defending national champion Dillon Raffurty a close second. Beebe showed a lot of speed in a solid third place showing with Michael Raffurty and Justin Raffurty completing the top five.

PASS preps for rare Thursday race at Bloomsburg

By Frank Buhrman BLOOMSBURG, Pa. (June 27, 2023) – The River Valley Builders PA Sprint Series returns to Bloomsburg Fair Raceway Thursday, June 29 for a rare weeknight racing program. The IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars will join the sprint-like All-Pro SpeedSTRs, front-wheel drive 4-cylinders, and Slingshot scale cars. Racing is schedule to begin at 7 p.m. PASS has only run three times on the new Bloomsburg track, located inside the horse track where auto racing was held in decades past. Last season, Austin Reed visited victory lane for both the tour’s appearances (a third scheduled stop was canceled). Only one other driver, Scott Frack, finished in the top five in both 2023 races and he plans a welcomed return to PASS competition Thursday after a prolonged absence. Mod Lites of Arkansas checkers to Vowan at Crowley’s Ridge Racing For the Paws event

PARAGOULD, Ark. (June 17, 2023) – Bryce Vowan won the inaugural Mod Lites of Arkansas Racing For The Paws event at Crowley’s Ridge Raceway. Making their first ever visit to Crowley’s Ridge, the MLA kicked off the night’s festivities helping raise much-needed pet food, supplies and kitty litter for the Greene County Animal Farm. Racers and fans donated a truckload of supplies to the shelter, located near the Paragould track.
