Stocker joins parade of first-time winners at Arlington

ARLINGTON, Minn. (June 24, 2023) – An hour-long rain delay and more new drivers in victory lane made for an interesting race night at the Arlington Raceway on Saturday. The Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compact feature saw Eric Stocker win his first feature ever as he led from start to finish to win the event, and just in time as he will be recuperating from shoulder surgery this week and will be unable to race. Justin Dose took second. In the Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMod feature, Charlie Rustman led the first 10 laps until Jeff Carter was able to get around him on the backstretch. The two raced side by side until Carter pulled away and won his first feature of the season. Rustman was the runner-up. Foulger repeats Antioch sweep

By Candice Martin  ANTIOCH, Calif. (June 24, 2023) – Troy Foulger duplicated his Antioch Speedway achievement from three weeks ago, winning IMCA Sunoco Stock Car and IMCA Modified main events. The Stock Car checkers were  the seventh of the season and fifth locally for Foulger. Jason Robles set the early pace before Foulger made an inside pass on the back stretch on lap four to take over. Foulger begin to pull away from the pack from that point for the impressive win. Robles settled for second ahead of Jeff Bentancourt, Scott Foster and Dave Hill. Later, Foulger returned and won his second local 20-lap Modified main Event. He jumped into the lead by the time the opening lap was completed. Nick DeCarlo was an early second, but a low pass on the eighth lap enabled Andrew Pearce to move ahead. Following a lap 10 yellow, the battle raged for the lead. Foulger maintained the lead when the green flag waved with Pearce in close pursuit. As they worked the 16th lap down the back stretch, there [Read More]

Bartz pockets top payday at Shawano

By Joe Orsini SHAWANO, Wis. (June 24, 2023) – Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds rolled out to race for $1,000 to win Saturday at Shawano Speedway and Jordan Bartz raced straight to victory lane to claim the check. Bartz utilized the momentum on the high side of the oval to grab the opening lap lead from her outside front row starting spot. Lucas Lamberies put on a show behind her, moving from eighth to fourth by lap three and then to third by lap four. A caution seven laps in slowed the pace and saw Bartz lead Marcus Yarie, Lamberies, Konnor Wilinski and Brekken Kleinschmidt back to green. As Yarie and Lamberies fell into a battle for second, Bartz looked to put some distance on the pair as they raced side-by-side. That breathing room was short-lived as Lamberies cleared Yarie on lap eight and put immediate pressure on the 12 of Bartz. The leader refused to wilt under fire and held on for the win and Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying eligibility. Lamberies crossed the line [Read More]

Garnhart wins nailbiter at Maquoketa before rain arrives

By Jerry Mackey MAQUOKETA, Iowa (June 24, 2023) – Amhof Trucking of Eldridge hosted on-track action Saturday night at Maquoketa Speedway. The racing took place under the threat of an approaching storm so the program was moved along as quickly as possible.  The IMCA Sunoco Late Models once again provided fans with a thrilling finish. As the winds began to whip around the fairgrounds, the Late Models were battling for position all the way through their 16-car field.  Race leader Dalton Simonsen took the white flag with what appeared to be a good enough lead that would allow him to score the win. Bryce Garnhart, however, had different ideas as he took his number 3 ride to the inside of Simonsen as the two raced down the back chute, setting up a charge to the finish off turn four which would net a feature win for Garnhart by less than two feet. Following Simonsen across the finish line were CJ Horn and early leader Scott Olson, who took fourth.  The Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods [Read More]
