Beckendorf records Rucks Memorial win

ARLINGTON, Minn. (Sept. 14, 2024) – Brandon Beckendorf was the third and final leader in the Jeff Rucks Memorial event for Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds at Arlington Raceway Saturday night. Trent Loverude started on the pole and Clint Hatlestad who started in the second row, moved right to the front with him by the eighth lap, Hatlestad was the leader but only for two laps as Loverude retook the position. A yellow came out for a spinning car and on the restart, Hatlestad was in second behind Loverude once again but the 10th starting Beckendorf was also in the mix. Three laps later, Beckendorf put the pressure on and as they were coming in for the white flag, it was Beckendorf leading the pack. He held on for the $1,000, Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying win with Loverude taking second, Hatlestad in third and Dalton Magers fourth. IMCA champions are crowned at RPM

By Sheldon Wickwar HAYS, Kan. (Sept. 15, 2024) – Eighty-two race teams checked into the legendary RPM Speedway for championship night racing on Sunday. Taking home feature wins were Gage Porter in the Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts and track champions Blaine Walt in the Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods, Zach Olmstead in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, Kyle Pfeifer in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Daniel Gottschalk in the Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds. Rileigh Flohrs was the Sport Compact track champion. The 15-lap feature for the 4-cylinder class started with a front row of Kaishen Brack and Alison Jeske. Brack led early while Kyle Mortensen and Porter fought for second, with Porter grabbing the lead after a few laps. Jake Schwien broke and that would open the championship door for Flohrs. Gottschalk finds fastest line at Fose Memorial

WaKEENEY, Kan. (Sept. 14, 2024) – After starting 11th, Daniel Gottschalk admitted he didn’t think he’d be a contender at WaKeeney Speedway’s inaugural John Fose Memorial. After being involved in an early-race scuffle and restarting in the back row of the 20-car Friesen Performance IMCA Modified field, he was even more skeptical. Then he found the fast line. Tiny Lund Memorial, Saltzman Showdown set for Sept. 20-21

Record pre-entries for 42nd annual Speedway Motors IMCA Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s

BOONE, Iowa (Aug. 30, 2024) – They say records are made to be broken. That’s become the theme for the Speedway Motors IMCA Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. Just two days after the number of pre-entries for the 42nd annual event eclipsed the 1,000 mark for the third consecutive year, a new Super Nationals pre-entry record was set when Danube, Minnesota’s Shaun Bruns became the 1,054th entry for America’s Racin’ Vacation. Bruns was the 279th IMCA Sunoco Stock Car to register, also a pre-entry record. New early registration marks were also established with 84 STARS IMCA Mod Lites and 27 IMCA Sunoco Late Models. There are 241 Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds entered, along with 182 Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods, 164 IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and 77 Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts. IMCA Super Nationals entries top 1,000 for third straight year

BOONE, Iowa (Aug. 28, 2024) – Early entries for the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s have raced past the 1,000 mark for a third consecutive year. Late Model driver Sean Johnson of Independence, the Super Nationals Stock Car champion in 2011, became the 1,000th driver to pre-register for the Sept. 2-7 Super Nationals at Boone Speedway on Wednesday morning. The Stock Cars (275), STARS Mod Lites (77) and Late Models (24) have all topped individual division records. Entries for the are now in hand from 29 states, two Canadian provinces and Australia. NAPA Auto Parts will Double Down for the Prelude and the IMCA Super Nationals

BOONE, Iowa (Aug. 27, 2024) – After the long time sponsor of the Double Down Prelude decided to go a different direction, it only took a five-minute conversation with Kendall Davis, district manager with NAPA Auto Parts, to add their brand to the Aug. 31-Sept. 1 event leading into the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. “The phone rang, and it was not the call I was expecting from (Boone Speedway announcer) Jerry Vansickel,” stated Davis. “He said, ‘Have I got a deal for you!’” After a short conversation, the two worked out the details to expand NAPA’s already great marketing partnership with Super Nationals and add it to the Prelude. Saturday wins are first of season for three at Arlington

ARLINGTON, Minn. (Aug. 24, 2024) – A fast track provided great racing action Saturday night at Arlington Raceway. There were three different leaders in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature. Shaun Bruns led the first 13 laps with Josh Larsen on his tail. Bruns and Tim Pessek then dueled multiple laps with Bruns falling back, Pessek taking over the lead and Dave Moriarty moving up a couple spots to challenge. A yellow flag came out for a spinning car on the 17th lap. On the restart, Moriarty took the lead and remained in front to win his first feature of the year. Pessek took second but was docked two spots in post-race tech. That gave second place to Matt Looft and third to Dan Eckblad. Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts saw a new car in victory lane with Zach Vande Kieft having a solid lead over Justin Dose in his drive to the checkers. Alan Lahr held on for third place.
