Shryock, Slagle, Fett, Nielsen score Hancock County wins

By Chad Meyer BRITT, Iowa (June 14, 2024) – Sam Hoffman led throughout much of the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature on Friday at the Hancock County Speedway, but Kelly Shryock was able to slip past late for the win. Shryock waited patiently for his opening when Hoffman came off the bottom groove and led for the last four laps of the race. Jeremy Mills was the only driver on the top side late and closed to within a few car lengths with two laps to go. Lapped traffic impeded his progress on the final circuit, however, sealing the win for Shryock. Hoffman and Jason Bass completed the top four.  In the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, Parker Slagle lost the lead but a yellow flag put him back out front for a mid-race restart. He made sure to finish off the feature by holding off Kelly Shryock, Troy Jerovetz and Scott Olson.  Alec Fett started the Friesen Performance IMCA SportMod feature seventh but he was a rocket on the extreme bottom groove. Luke Bird raced into the early lead of the Wright Way Trailers 20-lapper. He paced the field while a host of drivers gave chase. Mallicoat, running both high and low, worked into contention prior to the midway point, then took over the top spot and held off a hard-charging Ben Chapman, who started alongside Mallicoat in row five. Mark Schulte and Bird completed the top four. John Oliver Jr. raced from the fourth row to take top honors in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars presented by Christie Door Company.  After a terrific battle with Braden Richards, Miciah Hidlebaugh and Kaden Reynolds, Oliver assumed command and then held off a late surge from Hidlebaugh to secure his third win [Read More]

LaCrosse is IMCA Modified star on night 2 of Clash

FRANCIS CREEK, Wis. On Wednesday, the Casco clipper motored all the way from 12th on the initial grid to earn the $10,000 top prize, plus qualifying eligibility for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational, helping bring the flag down on two of the richest days of racing this season for IMCA Modifieds. Ward rewarded with $10,000 on opening night of Clash at the Creek

FRANCIS CREEK, Wis. (June 11, 2024) – A regular at 141 Speedway’s Clash at the Creek since 2018, Tim Ward could recall “hanging around for a while” before falling back and out of contention in his best prior outing in the Francis Creek. That changed Tuesday night as Ward took charge after midway of the 50-lapper for Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds, earning $10,000 and his career 99th victory in the class. “This is such a tough place to win,” Ward acknowledged, after matching career-best paydays from the 2021 Land of 10,000 Lakes Tour finale and last year’s IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s main event. “I was one of the favorites here last year, started 13th, got up to sixth and just ran out of time,” he said. “This time I had a really good race with Jake (McBirnie) the first half. It reminded me of Super Nationals – we raced really hard.” The one caution flew on lap 27. Ward beat Benji LaCrosse … winner of Tuesday’s IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature … [Read More]
