Five dates set for Cocopah Speedway’s Winter Nationals

SOMERTON, Ariz. ­– Winter Nationals expands to five dates at Cocopah Speedway. Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds run for $1,000 to win and a minimum of $200 to start at Friday and Saturday, Feb. 5 and 6, Tuesday, Feb. 9 and Friday, Feb. 12 shows. The main event on Saturday, Feb. 13 pays $3,000 to win and a minimum of $300 to start. All five features are 2016 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifying events. Also running on each of the five Winter Nationals programs are IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars for $500 to win and $100 to start, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods for $400 to win and $60 to start, and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks for $350 to win and $50 to start. Next Winter Challenge shows Jan. 29, 30 at Canyon

PEORIA, Ariz. ­– A pair of $1,250 features for Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds are on tap for the second weekend of the Winter Challenge at Canyon Speedway Park. Both Friday, Jan. 29 and Saturday, Jan. 30 main events are 2016 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifiers. Gates open at 5 p.m. and racing starts at 7 p.m. on Friday. Gates open at 3 p.m. and the first green flag flies at 5 p.m. Saturday. Defending champion Ricky Thornton Jr. won two of the three Winter Challenge features at Peoria last weekend. Hunter Marriott was the other winner. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Larry Shaw Racing Western Region and Allstar Performance State points are awarded each night of the Winter Challenge. Ken Schrader joins IMCA Modified fields for Frostbuster specials at Oskaloosa, Vinton, Marshalltown and Boone

OSKALOOSA, Iowa – Ken Schrader returns to Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modified fields for all four nights of Frostbuster Week. Southern Iowa Speedway at Oskaloosa hosts opening night on Wednesday, March 30. Frostbust­ers follow on Thursday, March 31 at Benton County Speedway in Vinton, Friday, April 1 at Mar­shalltown Speedway and Saturday, April 2 at Boone Speedway. Top prize each night for the Modifieds is $1,000 with a berth on the Fast Shafts All-Star Invita­tional ballot at stake as well. Most recently a Frostbuster competitor last spring, Schrader has enjoyed early-season success in the Belleville Motorsports North Central Region in the past. Hawkeye Dirt Tour set for Memorial Day opener at Vin­ton 

VINTON, Iowa ­– Opening night for the seventh annual Hawkeye Dirt Tour brings Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds to their traditional home track on Memorial Day. The Monday, May 30 show marks the fifth occasion the tour has taken its first green flag of the season at Benton County Speedway. The Vinton oval was the site of the first-ever IMCA Modified event in 1979. In all, nine dates are on the 2016 tour schedule. 2016 Kupper Chevrolet Dakota Classic Tour dates finalized

JAMESTOWN, N.D. ­–­ With Jamestown Speedway officials recently making their announcement to sanction Modifieds weekly beginning in 2016, dates and locations for the 27th annual Kupper Chevrolet Dakota Classic Tour have been finalized. Opening night for both Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds and IMCA Sunoco Stock Car series will be in Jamestown on Saturday, July 9, at Jamestown Speedway. On Sunday, July 10, the tour heads north to Minot and Nodak Speedway. The series then goes international on Monday, July 11, at Estevan, Sask., Motor Speedway. Night four brings the tour back to North Dakota on Tuesday, July 12 at Williston Basin Speedway. From there, the series heads south to Dickinson and Southwest Speedway on Wednesday, July 13. The series then heads east to Mandan for its traditional Championship Night on Thursday, July 14 at Dacotah Speedway. Central Arizona Speedway hosts Nov. 21, 22 Desert Thunder Nationals 

CASA GRANDE, Ariz. – Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds race for $1,000 to win on opening night and for $3,000 to win on night two of Central Arizona Speedway’s Desert Thunder Nationals this Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 21-22 Both features are 2016 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualify­ing events. A minimum of $100 will be paid to start on Saturday. Sunday’s runner-up earns $1,500 with $1,000 paid for third. Minimum start money is $150. Non-qualifiers get $50 on Saturday and $60 on Sun­day. LAS VEGAS, Nev. – What happens in Vegas this week will be the talk of the dirt track racing nation. Las Vegas Motor Speedway rolls out the red carpet for hundreds of IMCA drivers and thousands of fans traveling to the Entertainment Capital of the World for the 18th annual Duel In The Desert special Nov. 11-14. Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds race for $7,777 to win and a minimum of $777 to start their main event on Saturday. Nov. 14 at the half-mile Dirt Track. Seymour Speedway banquet set for Nov. 14

SEYMOUR, Wis. ­– The 32nd annual NEW DIRT awards banquet will be held on Saturday night, Nov. 14, at Doxbee’s Banquet and Buffet in Seymour. Cocktail hour will be from 5-6 p.m. Serving of the chicken and beef tips dinner starts at 6 p.m. with the awards program to follow. Top 10 drivers in each division this season at Seymour Speedway receive trophies. Rookies will be announced in each division as well. Free beer and a raffle follow the awards. Tickets are $25 each through the club meeting tonight (Monday, Nov. 2) at Doxbees. Tickets will be $30 per person after the meeting and until Nov. 10. No tickets will be sold at the door.
