April 4 opener takes Deery Series to Crawford County Speedway

DENISON, Iowa – More than two decades after its only previous visit, the Deery Brothers Sum­mer Series returns to Crawford County Speedway on Saturday, April 4. Opening night for the IMCA Late Model tour brings the series back to Denison for the first time since July 28 of 1994. Gary Webb of Blue Grass was the winner that evening, earning the second in what became a record four straight feature victories and eventually the first of three career tour championships. The Deery show scheduled last April at Crawford County was rained out. “With the blast of unseasonably mild weather recently, we’re optimistic about the series opener in Denison,” said Tour Director Kevin Yoder. “Once we get that event in we’ll be off and running with what promises to be another outstanding series.” The main event pays $3,000 to win and a minimum of $300 to start. 281 switches Spring Fling to April 25, 26

STEPHENVILLE, Texas – The Spring Fling originally planned for this weekend at 281 Speedway has been rescheduled for Saturday and Sunday, April 25-26. Inclement weather, wet track conditions and a wet and windy forecast prompted the change of dates. IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds, Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center Southern SportMods, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Mach-1 Sport Compacts will race both days at Stephenville. Pit gates open at 3 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. on Saturday. Hot laps are at 6:30 p.m. and racing starts at 7 p.m. On Sunday, gates open at 1 p.m., the grandstand opens and hot laps start at 3 p.m. and racing is at 4 p.m. All applicable IMCA points will be awarded. There is no registration fee and pit passes are $30. Spectator admission is $10 for adults, $3 for kids ages 6-12 and free for youngsters five and under. Schrader joining IMCA Modified fields for April 1-4 Frostbusters at Oskaloosa, Vinton, Marshalltown, Boone

OSKALOOSA, Iowa – IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds will race for a top prize of $1,000 and a spot on the ballot for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational at each of four Frostbuster specials April 1-4. Ken Schrader joins the Modified entrants beginning with opening night on Wednesday, April 1 at Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa. Benton County Speedway at Vinton hosts the Thursday, April 2 show. The Friday, April 3 Frostbuster is at Marshalltown Speedway and Boone Speedway hosts the Saturday, April 4 finale. $1,100 is top IMCA Modified check at Cottage Grove opener

By Ben Deatherage COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. – IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modified drivers planning to attend the Cottage Grove Speedway season opener on Saturday, April 4 will be pleased to know that the amount of money to win the feature has been increased. At the night’s end the main event winner will receive a cool $1,100 courtesy of Crocker’s Cars, making it a very big incentive to tackle the historical 1/4-mile clay oval. The CGS lidlifter is a qualifying event for the 2015 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. The IMCA Modified division features some of the most exciting racing that Cottage Grove Speedway has to offer and attracts teams from all over the Pacific Northwest. Other classes on tap that evening include the 360 sprints, late models and the Quality RV Repair hornets. Also, during intermission a Easter Egg Hunt will take place with 1,100 eggs to be hidden for the kids.

34 Raceway car show, kick-off party this Saturday

BURLINGTON, Iowa – The 2015 season has arrived for 34 Raceway. The annual 34 Raceway car show will be held at Heartland Harley-Davidson in Burlington from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Drivers bringing cars can begin setting up at 10:30 a.m. A complimentary lunch will be served. Fans can greet their favorite drivers, get some autographs and see all the cars before they hit the track for the first race on Saturday, April 4. Drivers and fans alike can finish the day out at Roederers Pit Stop in Burlington beginning at 6 p.m. for the 34 Raceway kick-off party. Fans in attendance will be eligible for ticket and gift card giveaways. The band Double Play begins playing at 8 p.m.

Two practice dates planned before Sunset opener 

By Ben Deatherage BANKS, Ore. – Sunset Speedway Park is a month away from opening night of its 2015 season. Before that first race there will be a couple chances for drivers and teams to shake down their cars at the “Banks Bullring.” Saturdays, April 4 and 11 are test and tune dates that will allow drivers to dial in their machines in preparation for the upcoming racing campaign. Each session will be from noon-5 p.m. There is no charge for grandstand admission. Pit passes are $25 and car and driver is $30. IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds are on the opening night card Saturday, April 18, along with street stocks, pure stocks, dwarf cars, and 4-Bee’s.

PASSCAR opens 20th season Saturday at Perris Auto Speedway

PERRIS, Calif. – After a successful 20th anniversary season opener for sprint cars at Perris Auto Speedway last Saturday night, the Riverside County clay oval will kick off the 20th anniversary PASSCAR season this Saturday, March 14. Saturday’s show will feature Super Stocks, Street Stocks, American Factory Stocks and the highly anticipated return of the IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds. Saturday’s race will be the first IMCA sanctioned Modified race at The PAS since 2005. Since 2007, the track started sanctioning the class under the PASSCAR banner. At the urging of racers, sanctioning for the division is reverting back to IMCA in 2015. The track has had an increase in the size of the fields for the Modifieds the past few years and going back to IMCA should draw even more cars. Canyon Speedway Park season opener this Saturday

Following an open practice session on Friday, March 13 from 6-9 p.m., the Saturday, March 14 CSP season opener goes green at 7 p.m. Saturday’s card that was originally set for Feb. 28 will feature the ASCS Southwest Region winged Sprint Cars along with the 9th World Vapor IMCA Modifieds, Arizona Differential Pure Stocks, Scottsdale Muffler and Automotive Renegades and Dwarf Cars. Cardinal Speedway opens this weekend with inaugural Black Gold Showdown

EUNICE, N.M. – The first annual Black Gold Showdown brings four IMCA divisions to Cardinal Speedway for season-opening Friday, March 13 and Saturday, March 14 shows. IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds vie for $600 to win on Friday and $700 to win on Saturday. Top prize for Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center Southern SportMods and IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars is $500 each night. IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks vie for $300 top prizes. A $500 bonus will be paid to the driver with the top two-day point total in each division.
