Cottage Grove reschedules Wild West Modified Series to Thursday

By Ben Deatherage COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. (July 23) – The races for Wednesday, July 23rd at Cottage Grove Speedway have been canceled due to weather. A storm that recently came through soaked the pit area as well as the race track which prevented any action taking place. However, the race has been rescheduled for Thursday, July 24 and will consist of the IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds and hornets. The Wild West Modified Series feature pays $1,000 to win. Front gates open at 4 p.m. and racing starts at approximately 6:45 p.m.

Great Basin dates next for EQ Wild West Tour

ELY, Nev. (July 23) – Great Basin Raceway is the next destination for the EQ Cylinder Heads Wild West Tour. Traveling IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds race for $1,000 to win in their Friday, July 25 and Saturday, July 26 features at Ely. Both events are qualifiers for the 2015 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Larry Shaw Racing Western Region, Allstar Performance State and local track points will be awarded each night. Pit gates will be open all day; the grandstand opens and hot laps start at 5 p.m. Racing begins at 6:30 p.m. Spectator admission is $12 for adults, $10 for seniors and students, $8 for kids 12 and under and free for youngsters five and under. Willamette gears up for weekend shows

LEBANON, Ore. – This Friday, July 25 and Saturday, July 26, Willamette Speedway hosts some of the best racing around. Both evenings will feature IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds as they wrap up the Wild West Modified Speedweek and the Northwest Extreme Late Model Series. The IMCA Modified race on Saturday will be the best paying to win all week as the main event winner earns a cool $2,000. Other contingencies are in the works also and will be announced soon. In Wirth Wireless Modified action at Willamette in 2014, it’s been a great year of competition. Matt Mitchell has the point lead but is tied for the most victories on the campaign with Collen Winebarger and Jeremy Shank with two each. Dacotah Speedway to host Governor’s Cup July 25, 26

MANDAN, N.D. – Dacotah Speedway’s 24th annual Governor’s Cup special boasts a $1,600 paycheck for the IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modified winner, along with a berth on the ballot for the 2015 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational. Mach-1 Sport Compacts are also on the Friday and Saturday, July 25-26 cards. They’ll race for $200 to win. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National and Allstar Performance State points will be awarded in both divisions. Modifieds also run for Belleville Motorsports North Central Region points. The Modified feature pays a minimum of $200 to start and $100 to non-qualifiers, with a $50 registration fee. Start money for the Sport Compacts is $50 with a $20 registration. The Saturday only pit fee for both divisions is $25. Pit gates at Mandan open at 5 p.m., the draw ends at 6:15 p.m. and qualifying starts at 7 p.m. Friday. Tentative times, subject to change due to the weather, on Saturday are 3 p.m. for the pit gates, 4:15 for the draw cutoff and racing at 5 p.m.

Hancock County Fair payout is potential $5K for IMCA Sunoco Stock Car winner

BRITT, Iowa – A check for as much as $5,000 goes home with the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature winner at the Hancock County Fair special this Friday, July 25. First place is worth a minimum of $4,000 with another $1,000 added if the first-place driver has perfect weekly attendance at Britt this season. The runner-up earns $2,000 with $1,000 for third. A minimum of $200 will be made to start the main event and tow money is $100. Twenty-four cars will qualify and the starting grid will be filled with two sponsor provisionals. All weekly divisions are on the program and a fireworks display follows the race program, which is sponsored by the Hancock County Fair, McNese Tire and IWireless Communications. McCOOK, Neb. – One thousand dollars and a spot on the 2015 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot are at stake for IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds in the Thursday, July 24 fair special at Red Willow County Raceway. Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods run for $750 to win and IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars for $500 to win. Payouts are based on 20-car fields; the event is promoted by the Red Willow County Fair Board which is guaranteeing payouts. INDEPENDENCE, Iowa – The XSAN Hawkeye Dirt Tour joins the World of Outlaws Late Mod­els Series on the Thursday, July 24 card at Independence Motor Speedway. The 30-lap feature for IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds pays $1,000 to win, a minimum of $150 to start and is a qualifying event for the 2015 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. Summer Nationals start fair entertainment at Lincoln County

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. – Opening night of the fair brings three IMCA divisions to Lincoln County Raceway for Summer Nationals at North Platte, Neb., on Wednesday, July 23. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods both race for $700 to win and a minimum of $90 to start. IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks run for $400 to win and a minimum of $90 to take the initial green. Osborne Speedway to host July 23-24 fair races

OSBORNE, Kan. – Osborne Speedway will host auto races during the Osborne County Fair on Wednesday and Thursday, July 23-24, beginning at 7 p.m. each evening. Both events will be IMCA sanctioned and IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regional and Allstar Performance State points will be awarded. It will be a separate points race each night and draw/redraw each night.
