Benton County XSAN Hawkeye Dirt Tour race postponed

VINTON, Iowa (May 13) – Blame all that rain on Monday and this morning’s unseasonably cool temperatures for postponement of tonight’s XSAN Hawkeye Dirt Tour event at Benton County Speedway. The fifth annual tour for IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds was to have opened Tuesday at Vinton. That race will now be rescheduled on a date to be determined. First night for the series will now be on Memorial Day Monday, May 26 at I-35 Speedway in Mason City. The feature pays $1,000 to win, a minimum of $150 to start and is a qualifier for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. Pit gates open at 4 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. Hot laps are at 6 p.m. with racing to follow. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Mach-1 Sport Compacts are also on the holiday card.

Benton County Speedway hosts May 13 XSAN Hawkeye Dirt Tour opener

VINTON, Iowa – Opening night brings the XSAN Hawkeye Dirt Tour back to the first track the IMCA Modified division called home. The Tuesday, May 13 IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modified feature at Benton County Speedway pays $1,000 to win, a minimum of $150 to start, and is a qualifying event for the 2014 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. Previous tour winners at Vinton include Vern Jackson of Waterloo in 2011, Jeff Waterman of Quincy, Ill., in 2012 and Cayden Carter of Oskaloosa last May. All three will be back in town for opening night, as part of a strong contingent of local competitors and drivers from Iowa and Illinois chasing series points. Clash at the Creek pre-entry is open

FRANCIS CREEK, Wis. –Wednesday and Thursday, June 25 and 26 mark the dates of 141 Speedway’s sixth annual Clash at the Creek. Friesen Chevrolet Empire State Series is Brewerton bound on May 9

BREWERTON, N.Y. (May 7) – The Empire State Series runs for the first time under the Friesen Chevrolet banner this Friday, when touring IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds travel to Brewerton Speedway. The May 9 feature pays $400 to win, a minimum of $75 to start and doubles as the Dean Hubbs Memorial. All applicable IMCA points will be awarded. Canyon Speedway Park set for Mother’s Day Race for the Cure

Following an open practice session tonight (Wednesday) from 6-9 p.m., the IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds headline Saturday’s event atop the 1/3-mile clay oval that also includes X-Modifieds, Pure Stocks, Renegades, Dwarf Cars and Lady Stocks. Ricky Thornton Jr., the current IMCA Modified point leader at Canyon, will try to defend his Mother’s Day Race for the Cure title after topping last year’s event that attracted more than 120 total competitors. Five Fast Fridays in May at the Davenport Speedway

DAVENPORT, Iowa – Davenport Speedway will be celebrating its own version of Cinco de Mayo this year, with five Fridays of exciting stock car racing action during the month of May. In addition to the weekly racing program on May 2, we will have Powder Puff races as an added attraction. Plenty of variety to May events at Dodge City

Red, White & Blue Series starts Saturday at 141 Speedway

FRANCIS CREEK, Wis. – The first of three $1,000 to win Gandrud Chevrolet Red, White and Blue Series events for IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds is this Saturday, May 3 at 141 Speedway. DELTA, Utah (April 29) – The eighth annual EQ Cylinder Heads Wild West Tour opens this weekend at Millard County Raceway, with a pair of $1,000 to win features for IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds.
