Murty dominant in Whole Hog 50 repeat at Stuart

By Josh Reynolds STUART, IA (May 30, 2022) – It was 2021 all over again on night two Monday of the Whole Hog 50 at Karl Chevrolet of Stuart International Speedway as Dallon Murty repeated as the $5,000 winner of the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car main event.  Dallon started outside his father Damon on the front row for the 50 lap feature and took control early, with Murty senior and Dustin Vis not far behind.  A yellow on lap 13 helped Jay Schmidt slide into third as the Murtys’ continued to pace the field. Vis was able to get back by Schmidt for third after the second and final caution on lap 22, and as the race wound down it was Dallon extending his lead over Damon. When the checkered flag flew it was Dallon taking the flag to flag win by almost two seconds over Damon with Vis third, Luke Lemmens fourth and Kelly Shryock fifth.  Dallon was already qualified to start the B & B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational. Berry tops IMCA Modifieds, Wieben rallies for Northern SportMod win at Anniversary special

VINTON, Iowa (May 30, 2022) – Tom Berry Jr. led all the laps and Sam Wieben led the most important one in the Monday night 43rd Anniversary special at Benton County Speedway. Berry led all 43 laps in winning the star-filled Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature, while Wieben lost, then got the lead back from Taylor Kuehl on the final circuit to win the Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMod feature.  “It’s always pretty special to win at the home track of IMCA,” said Berry, who was checking and double checking his car while crewman and right hand man Josh Capalla got the ace in the intermission card draw that gave him the inside front row start. “I don’t get to start on the front row that often. Fast start to season lands Looft career 200th IMCA Northern SportMod victory

ARLINGTON, Minn. (May 28, 2022) – Matt Looft joined another of IMCA’s most exclusive clubs Saturday night at Arlington Raceway.  Looft won for the 200th time in his Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMod career, becoming just the 16th driver in the sanctioning body’s modern era began in 1979 to achieve that feat.  “This wasn’t something I ever expected to be able to do,” the Swea City, Iowa, driver said the next day during a break from making ice cream for son’s Brysen’s fourth birthday party. “It took me like three years to get my first win in a ‘B’ mod. We’ve worked hard at this and I’ve had a good support system, which really helps. Emerson, Harcrow, Smith win HO’T features, All Star Shootout titles to Pirkle, Abbey, Geurin

WACO, Texas (May 29, 2022) – Three drivers won features and three drivers won championships on the final night of the IMCA All Star Shootout Sunday at Heart O’ Texas Speedway.  Jeff Emerson earned $1,000 and Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying eligibility for his Friesen Performance IMCA Modified win while Markiss Harcrow collected $750 and became B & B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational qualifying eligible for his IMCA Sunoco Stock Car checkers. Cody Smith was also a $750 winner, in the Smiley’s Racing Products IMCA Southern SportMod main. Jacob Pirkle ran eighth in repeating as the Shootout Modified champion. Defending All Star Shootout champion Pirkle prevails in Kennedale IMCA Modified feature

KENNEDALE, Texas (May 28, 2022) – His consistent finishes got Jacob Pirkle the 2021 All Star Shootout title. A convincing flag-to-flag run at the front of the field got him a $1,500 Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature win in the 25-lap Shootout show Saturday night at Kennedale Speedway Park. “This is my home track, I started on the front row and I thought I had a lot to prove. Tonight was very good for us,” said Pirkle, who was running in heavy lapped traffic before halfway and was not challenged after the second of back-to-back restarts on lap 18. “I really wanted a win and tonight we got it. Bowers powers to Modified Madness checkers

By Rick Staley OSBORN, Mo. (May 27, 2022) – Steven Bowers Jr. took the final checkers of the evening in dominating fashion Friday at US 36 Raceway’s Modified Madness. Bowers, already Fast Shafts All Star Invitational qualifying eligible, swept the night as he dominated the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified main event, lapping all but the second-place contender on the way to the $1,100 win.  Jacob Hobscheidt kept close to Bowers to finish second with Josh Munsen third. Other IMCA winners during the evening at Osborn were Mike Nichols, Tim Eaton and Dillon Raffurty. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars never disappoint and this night would be no different as a blanket could cover the field of competitors doing battle.  Conner Masoner took the early lead with Randy Smith Jr. and Bubba Beam in pursuit. Late arrival Gould hustles to Boyd All Star Shootout IMCA Modified, Stock Car wins

BOYD, Texas (May 27, 2022) – William Gould got to the track late but he got to the finish line first.  Twice.  Gould won both Friesen Performance IMCA Modified and IMCA Sunoco Stock Car features Friday at Boyd Raceway, on night two of the All Star Shootout. “It was a good night for sure,” said Gould, who pulled into the pits just about the time the first green flag was waving after spending the day helping Gould Race Cars customers get their own cars ready for the weekend. “I only consider myself as fast as I was in my last race and tomorrow we might be terrible, but tonight we were pretty fast.”  He’d started 22nd in the Stock Car main – Gould was in a borrowed ride and was disqualified for an illegal carburetor – and needed just seven laps to race his way up to third. Clement is IMCA Modified star in Shootout opener at Ardmore

ARDMORE, Okla. (May 26, 2022) – A driver without a plan going into the opening night All Star Shootout feature for Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds went home with $1,000 after it.  Mitchell Clement took charge following a restart at halfway, then held off a late challenge from William Gould in winning the Thursday night headliner at Southern Oklahoma Speedway. Jacob Pirkle found the fast line coming to the checkers to edge Gould for second-place pay. “I didn’t know what the track was going to do. I didn’t have a plan out there,” Clement admitted after his first feature win of 2022. “I knew the 60 car (Gould) would be coming. Opening night moves to Thursday for IMCA All Star Shootout

ARDMORE, Okla. (May 25, 2022) – Rain had the final word and resulted in rescheduling opening night of the IMCA All Star Shootout.  The lidlifter for Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Smiley’s Racing Products IMCA Southern SportMods moves to Thursday, May 26 at Southern Oklahoma Speedway in Ardmore. The event originally scheduled that evening at Grayson County Speedway has been canceled. The Shootout is at Texas speedplants Boyd Raceway on Friday, May 27; at Kennedale Speedway Park on Saturday, May 28; and at Heart O’ Texas Speedway in Waco on Sunday, May 29.  Modifieds run for $1,000 to win and Fast Shafts All-Star qualifying eligibility each night.
