Practice session planned Sunday at Boyd

BOYD, Texas – Pit gates open at noon and a practice session for all divisions starts at 2 p.m. this Sunday, May 24. The Texas Sprint Series headlines the first night of the IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing point season on Friday, May 29. IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, Smiley’s Racing Products Southern SportMods and Mach-1 Sport Compacts round out the card. Gates to the pits open at 5 p.m. and racing starts at 8:30 p.m. The grandstand will be open, social distancing will be in effect and masks are recommended. Pit passes are $35. Spectator admission is $15.

Racing canceled at US 36 Raceway for May 15

OSBORN, Mo. – Due to overnight rains, US 36 Raceway officials have canceled racing for May 15. US 36 Raceway officials do not want the track to break up and after last week feel it is in the best interest of our racers and teams to cancel today’s race. This upcoming week, US 36 Raceway is bringing in a crew and equipment to help completely rework the racetrack to improve the racing surface before the next event. Opening night, Bill Davis Memorial events start season at Stuart

STUART, Iowa – Opening night kicks off a big week of IMCA racing at Stuart Speedway. IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods and Mach-1 Sport Compacts start the 2020 campaign at Stuart on Wednesday, May 20. Ruter takes over as promoter at home track Hancock County Speedway

BRITT, Iowa – Ryan Ruter begins his promotional career this season at the same track he started racing. Ruter takes charge at home track Hancock County Speedway in Britt, where IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods will run on Friday nights beginning May 22. “I’ve always wanted to promote and the opportunity came up this year,” said the long-time IMCA Modified driver and owner of Side Biter Chassis. “I know what the fans want. Five IMCA divisions on Crawford County opening night card

DENISON, Iowa – Five IMCA divisions see action under the Friday night lights when Crawford County Speedway hosts its opening night event of 2020. IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods and Mach-1 Sport Compacts run at Denison on May 15, chasing IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regional, state and track points. Drivers in all divisions are asked to register ahead of time through the link on the track Facebook page. A maximum of 10 people can accompany each race car and pit passes will be purchased at the pit gate; driver sign-in will be completed at the score tower. Social distancing will be followed and it’s recommended that participants wear masks or other appropriate facial covering. No grandstand seating will be sold. Green flag flies Friday at Davenport Speedway

DAVENPORT, Iowa – The first green flag of the season flies this Friday at Davenport Speedway, with three IMCA divisions on the May 15 card. IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Late Models and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods will be featured at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regional, state at track points will be awarded. No spectators will be allowed in the grandstand and a maximum of 10 people will be allowed with each car in the pit area. Social distancing will be in effect and track officials recommend that masks be worn when drivers and/or crew are away from their area in the pits. Pits open at 3 p.m. and hot laps are at 6:30 p.m. with racing to follow. Pit passes are $30. The event will be broadcast by Done Right TV. Opening night set this Saturday at Boone Speedway

BOONE, Iowa – Iowa’s Action Track opens this Saturday with four IMCA divisions on the race night card. IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods chase IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly racing National, regional and state, but no track points when the green flag flies at Boone Speedway on May 16. Working with IMCA and following CDC social distancing guidelines permitted by the State of Iowa, Boone Speedway will be able to race with only pit-side attendees. Each participating race car will be allowed a total of 10 members, come and join your favorite driver in the pits. Fans will also be able to watch the race live via pay-per-view on the all-new IMCA.TV. Registration for the draw/redraw is required and can be done through the MyRacePass link on the track raceboone.com website. Updates on specific guidelines and procedures will be posted on social media and the website. Pit gates open at 1 p.m., hot laps are at 4 p.m. and racing starts at 5 p.m. Saturday.

Boone Speedway sets Friday practice session

BOONE, Iowa – An open practice session runs from 6-8 p.m. this Friday, May 15 at Boone Speedway. Pit passes will be $15, masks must be worn, hand sanitizer stations will be located around the speedway grounds and race teams must maintain social distancing. Opening night for IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods is Saturday, May 16. Independence Motor Speedway to host two nights of practice

By Jerry Mackey INDEPENDENCE, Iowa – The Independence Motor Speedway will once again roar to life with the sweet sounds of racing engines this weekend. On Friday, May 8, the IMCA Modifieds. IMCA Sunoco Late Models and IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars will be allowed to practice. On Saturday, May 9, the Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks will be welcomed to the speedway. By splitting the divisions and running practice both nights, the governor’s guidelines for the Covid-19 virus will be much easier to follow. Unfortunately the grandstands will be closed and all crew members must remain with their cars in the infield. Ten persons will be allowed entrance to the pit area with each race car. Dodge City Raceway Park shifts practice to May 23

By Lonnie Wheatley DODGE CITY, Kan. – In the ever-changing environment of the current COVID-19 coronavirus culture, Dodge City Raceway Park has shifted its open practice to a tentative date of Saturday, May 23, rather than the previously scheduled date of May 16. Following the tentative practice session set for May 23, pending further developments, Dodge City Raceway Park will now kick off the season with a URSS vs. DCRP Sprint Car showdown along with a full slate of championship chase action including IMCA Modifieds, IMCA SportMods, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks on Saturday, June 6.
