Point leader Meyer paces Sport Compacts at Off Road

(June 27)  – Ramsey Meyer, the point leader in the Mach-1 Sport Compact divi­sion, added to his advantage in the standings with his second local feature win of the season at Off Road Speedway. After starting toward the back, Meyer spent the race working his way through traffic toward the front. With three laps remaining he then took advantage of the race’s only caution, which sent the cars into a single-file restart, to pass Lance Mielke coming out of turn four on the final lap for the win. Max Anderson finished in third. Kyle Prauner won his sixth Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod feature in as many attempts after starting in the sixth row. Jason Wilkinson picked up his third win of the season in seven local IMCA Sunoco Stock Car starts. Jeremy Hoskinson prevailed in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock tilt.

Cox takes Chamber of Commerce Night checkers at Cottage Grove 

By Ben Deatherage COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. (June 27) – Another Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modified battle for the ages unfolded on Chamber of Commerce Night Saturday at Cottage Grove Speedway. Kinzer Cox and Kreg Britton exchanged the lead on numerous occasions over the course of the first eight circuits, Britton running the high side and Cox working the bottom. Cox finally secured the lead on lap nine and kept in front of all challengers to win his third local feature of the season. Greg McDonald was second and third went to Curtis Towns. Eric Ashley and Britton completed the top five.

Ward takes second straight at Kossuth County

By Greg Grabianowski ALGONA, Iowa (June 25) – Tim Ward used a late-race pass to win his second straight Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modified feature Thursday at Kossuth County Speedway. Ward passed race-long leader Derek Green with two laps to go. Jesse Hoeft found the fast line behind Ward and finished second while Green ended in third. Kevin Opheim was the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car winner while George Nordman used a restart with five laps left to take the lead and the win in the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod contest. Late-race heroics were also the story for the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, as Jeremy Wegner passed Austin Hauswirth on the final turn. Nate Coopman continued to dominate the Mach-1 Sport Compacts, winning his sixth straight fea­ture as he came from outside the fourth row.

Ireland, Graham win at Sunset 

By Ben Deatherage BANKS, Ore. (June 27) – A late-race pass put Rob Ireland in victory lane on Fan Appreciation Night at Sunset Speedway Park. The Budweiser IMCA Modified checkers were his second of the season and came ahead of Craig Cassell and Kristi Somers. Pamela Graham also got the lead late and drove to her third Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod victory of 2015.

Foulger defends home turf with Summer Nationals win at Antioch

ANTIOCH, Calif. (June 27) – When Bobby Hogge IV comes to town, the intensity of competition goes up a notch at Antioch Speedway. Add North Carolina-based NASCAR star Kenny Wallace, a consummate dirt track driver, and the bar is raised even higher. Four-time track champion Troy Foulger rose to the occasion, showing the visitors the fast way to the finish line as he won the Antioch Speedway Summer Nationals main event on Saturday night. Foulger was not about to let Hogge or Wallace rule in the $2,500 to win Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modified main event. He and Hogge waged a cat-and-mouse battle for first right up to the fall of the checkered flag. Cheered on by a full grandstand of fans standing up for the final two laps, Foulger scored a vic­tory for the local racers. Wallace finished 10th. Saathoff soars at Eagle

(June 26) – Sanctioned career win number 342 for Johnny Saathoff came at Eagle Raceway Saturday night. “This was my first feature win of the year and I’m so glad that it came here at Eagle Raceway, my home track,” Saathoff said after the Kaplan University IMCA Modified headliner. “I was getting nervous the last five laps because I almost lost it. Thanks to (promoter) Roger (Hadan) the track is getting better, and we’re finally getting the car set to where the track is. We’ll keep coming back and trying to win.” Defending champion Clint Benson earned his first RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Car checkers of 2015 at Eagle. Adam Armstrong won his third straight Valentino’s IMCA Hobby Stock main event. Lance Borgman topped the NAPA IMCA Northern SportMod feature at Eagle for the second time this season and Matt Moyer became a two-time Sam’s Club IMCA Sport Compact winner.

Rogers, Money are repeat winners at RPM 

By Mike Hughes HAYS, Kan. (June 27) – Jason Rogers and Clay Money made return appearances in the winner’s circle at RPM Speedway on Saturday evening. Rogers became the first repeat winner in the Advantage Glass Plus IMCA Stock Car division at Hays this year. Rogers took the lead on lap seven from Arnold Williams. A caution on lap 19 set up a green, white, checkered finish, giving the field a shot at Rogers, but Rogers, the winner the night before at Thomas County Speedway in Colby, was up to the challenge. Williams was second, followed by Chad Sterling. Money won his third Golden B Hydra Drilling IMCA Northern SportMod feature after taking a lead on lap seven he would not relinquish. Hunt ends in victory lane at Crystal 

CRYSTAL, Mich. (June 27) – Mitchell Hunt earned All-Star Performance IMCA Modified honors Saturday at Crystal Motor Speedway. Hunt caught Cliff Denman for second and John Row for the lead. The feature got off to an inauspicious start when point man Travis Fisher got turned around going into turn one on the opening lap and collected Toby Steele, who had nowhere to go.

Bishofberger takes career first IMCA Modified checkers

By Dave Panske OSHKOSH, Wis. (June 26) – Zeke Bishofberger became a first-time Automotive Supply Company IMCA Modified winner Friday at Oshkosh SpeedZone Raceway. Following a lap five caution, Bishofberger took over the lead and started to pull away. Mike Mueller was next to move up and took over second on lap seven with Tim Robbins and Dan Roedl mak­ing up the rest of the top four. They pulled away until a final caution bunched the field on lap 17. Bishofberger controlled the lead over the final three circuits with Mueller making a charge on the outside over the final lap to fall just short and finished second. Roedl was third. Czarapata dominates Luxemburg’s $5,000 to win show

(June 26) – While cousins Jason Czarapata and Brandon Czarapata have won on the same night many times before, Friday was certainly one of their mutually richer nights at the race track. Jason Czarapata bagged the $5,000 top prize at Luxemburg Speedway’s Friday night special for Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds while Brandon Czarapata was the $750 IMCA Sunoco Stock Car winner. Jason Czarapata earned his pole position for the IMCA Modified feature by winning a six-car, eight-lap dash earlier in the evening. Front row starter and former national champion Jordan Grabouski was slated to start on the front row also but mechanical woes forced his night to be done. Mike Mullen, who topped the $10,000 to win Clash at the Creek main event at 141 Speedway the night before, moved alongside Czarapata at the drop of the green flag.
