Burke Battles from Eighth to Win IMCA Modified Opener at Ocean

By Steven Blakesley WATSONVILLE, Calif. (Mar. 28, 2025) — Cody Burke of Salinas drove from the eighth starting position to win the season opening 25-lap Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature. Robert Marsh of Salinas fended off some tough customers for the first half of the event. A caution for both Jonathan Hagio and Kyle Bryan each in separate spins, set up the key restart for Burke. Burke drove inside Marsh on the backstretch to take the lead on lap 15. Bobby Hogge followed him into second as well. Hogge hounded Burke to no avail over the final ten laps. Burke earned the victory over Hogge, Marsh, Bakersfield’s Robby Sawyer, and Prunedale’s Jim Pettit II. It is Burke’s first win of the season in the Shaw Race Cars Western Region. Wagner Slices Through Field for SportMod Triumph Baypoint’s Danny Wagner took home the win in the 20-lap Karl Chevrolet IMCA SportMod main event from a scheduled ninth starting position. Weekend Races at I-37 Speedway and HOT Speedway Rained Out — STIMS Racing Update

We regret to inform our fans, teams, and supporters that both races scheduled for this weekend at I-37 Speedway and HOT Speedway have been cancelled due to rain. Given the number of travelers planning to attend, and after speaking earlier with HOT Speedway promoter Selby Holder, we’ve mutually agreed that STIMS Racing will not run a show tomorrow night in Waco. We believe this is the best decision for everyone involved. Both events will be rescheduled, and we will announce the new dates as soon as possible. Our next event is scheduled for April 26th at Texana Raceway Park. We look forward to seeing everyone there for a great night of racing!

Bender Blazes to Victory at Casa Grande

(Mar. 22, 2025) — Collin Bender delivered a dominant performance in the Stealth Racing IMCA STARS Mod Lite main event at Central Arizona Raceway, charging from eighth to the lead in just two laps around the 3/8-mile oval to secure his first win of the 2025 season. Defending Arizona State champion Michael Phay led the early circuits, but Bender wasted no time carving his way to the front. On lap two, he executed a daring double pass in turn two and quickly closed in on Phay. By turn three, Bender completed the move to take over the top spot. Once in command, Bender faced two caution periods, but each time he proved unfazed. On the final restart, which came on lap 8, the Chandler native pulled away to a commanding lead and cruised to the checkered flag. Bryan McCauley finished second, with Braeden Ward rounding out the podium in third.

Allen Sweeps Southern Raceway Weekend with IMCA Modified Doubleheader

(Mar. 22, 2025) — Tyler Allen was unbeatable at Southern Raceway over the weekend, sweeping both Friesen Performance IMCA Modified features at the 3/8-mile West Florida oval. The Navarre native opened and doubled his DeVilbiss Racing Eastern Region win tally with two dominant performances. In Saturday’s 20-lap main event, David Seffens set the early pace out front. Allen wasted little time, charging from sixth to second in just two laps before getting behind the leader’s back bumper. Seffens slipped up and got sideways in front of the field, forcing Allen to make a split-second move to avoid contact. In the chaos, third-running Jonathan Joiner was collected, and Allen emerged with the lead. Despite a couple of restarts — including one following a red flag incident on the front stretch — Allen showed no signs of slowing. Arlington Raceway Celebrates 2024 Season at Annual Awards Banquet

(Mar. 24, 2025) — Nearly 300 attendees gathered to celebrate the 2024 Arlington Raceway season during the annual Awards Banquet at Jackpot Junction Casino Hotel in Morton, Minnesota. The evening recognized driver achievements, community involvement, and marked the transition into the 2025 racing season. Perfect Attendance Awards were presented to 58 dedicated drivers who participated in every event during the season. Rookie of the Year honors were awarded to Mac Tollefson in the Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stocks, Marc Grey in the Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts, Scott Koep in the Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMods, Hunter Hansen in the RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Cars, Jed Trebelhorn in the Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars, and T.J. Manning Flips, Then Flies to Victory in Bill & Shirley Memorial at Mohave Valley

(Mar. 22, 2025) — It was a wild night for Gavyn Manning at Mohave Valley Raceway, as the Bakersfield, California driver went from flipping early in the night during hot laps to standing in victory lane after winning the $2,000-to-win 5th Annual Bill & Shirley Memorial. Manning capitalized on a strong restart to take control of the race and never looked back in the 25-lap Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature. The 3/8-mile oval hosted 29 competitors from across the Shaw Race Cars Western Region, setting the stage for an action-packed night. The 2021 National IMCA Southern SportMod champion surged to the lead in the closing laps to collect his first victory of the 2025 campaign in the division’s first appearance at the ¼-mile oval. The 20-lap main event began with 2013 IMCA National Modified champion William Gould setting the pace. He held steady through two early cautions, but things changed quickly after a lap-nine restart. Jake Upchurch, a three-time KSP IMCA SportMod track champion, used the high side to rocket from fifth to second and began challenging Gould. Ramey Scores First Career Win at Heart O’ Texas’ Gene Adamcik Memorial

The 22-year-old Fort Worth native was both emotional and elated in victory lane after achieving the milestone victory. Starting from the front row, Ramey held off defending track champion Claud Estes III at the drop of the green. As Estes battled Jeb Sessums for second, Ramey built a solid lead — one that vanished in lapped traffic by lap 6, allowing both challengers to close in. Sessums, wheeling the Taco Casa Racing entry, made a bold three-wide move on the leaders in turn three, but a caution negated the pass, allowing Ramey to keep the top spot. Wagner Breaks Through for First 2025 Win at Marysville

The Baypoint racer claimed the lead in the second half of the 20-lap feature and cruised to his first win of the 2025 season. The race began with 2022 Marysville track champion Jimmy Ford setting the pace out front. Ford looked strong early, fending off pressure from both Jace Wright and two-time California State champion Trevor Clymens. Clymens nearly made a stunning double overtake on lap 8 but was forced back to third when a caution halted his momentum. On the ensuing restart, Wright tried to dive underneath Ford for the lead but came up short. That allowed Wagner to close in. When Wright bobbled slightly on lap 10, Wagner slipped by into second. Brown Blasts to Victory in MASS Opener at Bridgeport

By Ben Deatheage SWEDESBORO, N.J. (Mar. 21, 2025) — Dave Brown kicked off the 2025 Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series season with a flag-to-flag victory in the 25-lap feature at Bridgeport Speedway. The race featured some of the best RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Cars in the region. The Pilesgrove pilot took the lead at the drop of the green and never, despite heavy lapped traffic and mid-race cautions on the 4/10-mile “Kingdom of Speed.” Troy Betts and Aidan Borden battled for second early, giving Brown the breathing room to build a large gap. Lapped traffic came into play by lap four, forcing Brown to make aggressive moves to maintain the top spot. A series of cautions near the halfway point regrouped the field. On the final restart with 13 laps to go, Betts briefly got by Brown, but Brown quickly countered to retake the lead from the Delaware driver at the line.
